That’s Trump for you. We all know he would NOT do this, but of course he has to say that he would. Both of those things are spectacularly non-presidential. That is to say, any decent president would actually help out in an emergency and no decent president would brag about it, especially when he didn’t actually do it.
Sorry if this is a hijack, but I’ve seen Corey Booker mentioned a few times as someone who actually would do this. What’s the story there?
Cory Booker Rescues A Freezing Dog and 9 Other Things He Has Saved
An excerpt:
Several other items listed in the article reflect well on him as someone who feels a strong sense of duty to others, but that’s the one situation that involved significant personal risk (and in fact did result in some injury). I didn’t see anything about his actual or hypothetical response to an active shooter, but the idea of him being willing to rush in is much more plausible than Trump doing so.
If the shooter was in the girls’ locker room, he might walk in, after the shooter leaves. Would Cadet Bone Spurs take him on unarmed? Ha.
Running into a burning building to save your neighbour is good and all, but it pales in comparison to his “99 problems” tweet during Hurricane Sandy.
I guess when you are surrounded by secret service agents, it’s a good idea.
That may be the saddest thing about this…of course, if it weren’t a primarily white upper class school in Florida, but instead was a school full of brown people with a white shooter, we might want to consider both sides…![]()
Yeah, if it wasn’t for those bone spurs, he would have gone to Nam and killed all those VC all by himself.
When I heard that he said that, my response was “make my day.”
