It of course goes without saying that there was a time when a presidential candidate was expected to address tough questions with tact, maintain their composure under pressure, and earn the respect of the audience by providing thoughtful answers.
It is truly maddening how depraved this man has made political discourse.
But here’s the thing. It’s been often said, in past elections, that Black women are a powerful voting block. And I suspect that whatever strategy Trump was thinking to employ will backfire tremendously, as he surely raised the ire of any dark skinned woman in America by suggesting that Harris somehow does not qualify. I imagine that they all can relate to feelings of marginalization, and he is just adding gasoline to any conflagration of opposition.
