“Help me out here, Mr. President. What’s the difference between a ‘white job’ and a ‘black job’?”
Yeah, yeah, I know … gotchas don’t really work with Trump. But it would be fun to try.

I’m quite certain that not all the Black jobs are, umm, field . . . jobs.
I believe they did try to immediately call him out and asked “What are Black jobs?”
He responded with “any jobs” and quickly kept talking past it.
I was hoping someone would ask if POTUS was a black job.
Oh, that would have been perfect!
One of the journalists did ask him something like, “Even better than Lyndon Johnson, who spearheaded the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act?” IIRC he just ignored them.
I follow the author Adam-Troy Castro on Facebook, and he posted this savagely brilliant takedown of Trump (posted with his permission):
I went back and watched the video again and this was the exchange.
“I will tell you that coming, coming from the border, are millions and millions of people that happen to be taking Black jobs. You have the best…”
“What exactly is a ‘Black job’ sir?”
“A Black job is anybody that has a job, that’s what it is, anybody that has a job…”
“All right.”
He then went on to talk about “invaders” coming across to steal jobs.
That was great! Thanks for the link.
This is pretty much the definition of “my unsupported opinion “

Interesting. I have a job. Didn’t know that makes me a ‘Black job’.
Another example of his “WTF is he trying to say” where his people have to rush in after the fact and tell you what he really meant.
It’s not hard to figure out what he was trying to say. The stumper is why the hell didn’t he say it?
“Millions of illegals are crossing the border to become railroad porters.”
I think I know why he didn’t say it.
He’s inarticulate and scatter-brained. And I doubt he had a ready answer for that question even though he really should have.
Was anybody else reminded of Megan Kelly’s question posed to him during a Republican primary debate?
She also listed things he had said and asked him to justify it: “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals.’ Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?"
He also took that as hostile, and his response was similarly personal.
“What I say is what I say. And honestly, Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry, I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that to you."
C’mon, we all know Trump isn’t that out of it!
Rappers, rapers, crack dealers, pimps, squeegee guys, etc, etc.
Like others upthread, I have co-workers who felt that Trump just smoked this interview and put the liberals in their place. Never mind that he didn’t answer most of the questions put to him. Or that he made up stats (50 million migrants crossed in three years?). Or continued with his lyin’ ways. He was great! They really believe this in their hearts.
The GOPs Schrodinger’s Mexican- at once too lazy to work, and also stealing our jobs.
Incidentally, during my US Treasury project working with Migrant farm laborers- not a single one was black- or caucasian. Some proudly mentioned they were citizens. (we were not allowed to ask), They were the hardest working , most honest people I have ever seen.
