Trump to attend Black journalists' convention

Sorry - “Does Not Give A F…”

She must be some kind of genetic freak. Call Dr. X!

The great thing about Trump’s NABJ interview is that it’s stepping all over Republican’s efforts to define Harris. The opportunity that Republicans have (that’s rapidly evaporating) with Biden dropping out is that Harris is much less known and defined in public perception. They should be dumping a TON of advertising on her right now to cement an unflattering picture of her. It needs to be a simple, clear and short set of bullet points they use to paint her, and the bullet points all but write themselves: San Francisco liberal, failed border czar, caused runaway inflation.

That’s it. Anything they say outside of those three is at best a distraction. And Trump’s off talking about whether she’s black while Vance is criticizing her for not having biological children. This is terrible political messaging. And while GOP messaging is muddled, Harris has the time and space to build up her own positive image with voters. I’m sure Trump’s political advisors and the rest of the GOP understand all of this, but this is what you get when your candidate’s Donald Trump.

I don’t know if anybody else mentioned this and not sure where to put it but I think it fits here as well as anywhere. Simone Biles after winning her second gymnastics all-around title posted on X (formerly twitter)

“I love my black job”

Truly the GOAT in more ways than one.

I hope we’re all aware of the history there,

Also, you think the attacks on Harris are going for the bone then y’all are aware that QMAGATs are spreading the ‘’‘’‘fact’‘’‘’ that Harris is actually a transwoman born in (IIRC) Algeria to (IIRC) a top Saddam Hussein era Iraqi general.

IOW, as soon as you think this can’t get more ridiculous there’ll be another fuckwit with a beer that needs holding.

>Malcolm X enters the chat<

Just wait until they find out Ginny Thomas had a twin sister who they sold to Fred Trump, who decided to try to raise it as a boy.

That would explain the delicate hands.

I was not, in fact, aware of that Vance quote until now.

It comes across, in a lot of ways, as being similar to Trump’s criticism of John McCain: “I like people who weren’t captured.” It’s insensitive, and has a “only winning should be recognized; everything else is shameful” mindset.

Seems to me that Vance is settling into his new role. Translating Trumpese into Republican English. I don’t know if that’s what they thought his role would be when he was picked, but that’s what it’s becoming. What he said about Trump’s comments actually make sense from a campaign point of view. Saying Harris was not black until recently is obviously not correct. Vance’s translation was Harris is a phony who will change to be whatever she thinks she needs to be if it’s advantageous at the moment. “Not really black” doesn’t work coming from a bunch of white guys. “She’s phony and manipulative” is a genuine character flaw to be exploited if you can get people to believe it. Trump doesn’t have the ability to communicate anything that nuanced. If the message has to go through CF to be heard then it’s not an effective message.

See my post 339, with Xitter link.

JD Vance? I’m sorry, I meant to say James Donald Bowman who referred to Tump as America’s Hitler has the gall to criticize someone for changing an aspect of their identity for some sort of gain? That’s rich.

Are you sure you didn’t mean James David Hamel?

(Just to point out, he has changed his name multiple times, though one of those was due to adoption.)

And yes, it’s disingenuous to criticize someone for supposedly changing how they identify (when they are legitimately of mixed race and always identified as both) when you have changed your name twice throughout your life, and the second time was just because you thought it was cool.

Well, he pays people who are supposed to know things that he doesn’t. Whether he chooses those people wisely is more questionable, however.

One job for which there is inarguably no labor shortage.

Even if chosen wisely there is no guarantee want they put in his ear will come out his mouth.

She can also bounce 11 feet in the air using just her bare feet, can do one armed pull ups, and probably has other super powers.

Love that she calls being the GOAT of gymnastics her “black job”.

“Where’s my black guy?”

To be fair, I think the comment in question was:

Oh, look at my African American over here

Which, if I’m being honest, isn’t even infinitesimally less disgusting.

But … y’know … accuracy in all things

It wasn’t though. I distinctly remember him saying “black guy” and thinking, well that was awkward. Didn’t even give the guy a name, prolly because he didn’t know what it was.
