Trump voters explain themselves

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

  • Inigo Montoya

As I said in the paragraphs above, I disagree with Trumps way of doing many things such as his aggressive behavior, his lack of filter and many other things. And when you speak of Wall Streets “Holy Trinity”, you mustn’t immediately and singularly associate it with the Republicans, the Democrats play heavily in that role as well. Don’t even get me started on the corruption in terms of Hillary…

I repeat once more, Trump by no means would’ve been my ideal candidate, but IF I had to vote last year, I would’ve chosen him based on the lesser of two evils. I prefer to elect and idiot who doesn’t know what he’s doing than a mad woman who know every button to push in order to make this place burn.

Once more, you people tend to not read very well. If you had paid close attention to what I wrote above, you would see the fact that I said I sided with Right Wing Libertarian. I’m not sure what you think Libertarians are, but what you speak of is science-neglecting-religion-adoring classic Conservatism. Different… In my ideal world (just to give you a sense of what my values are), I would terminate all wars as soon as possible, try not to get the US in any more. Then move on to its economy, do some housekeeping and transform it into a beautiful mix of 4/5 Capitalism with 1/5 Socialism to keep up with the things we like. There would be an enormous boost in education budget along with other things, and the US would finally achieve its supposed “1” status, and by the right means as well…

What do you imagine was in Hillary’s “make this place burn” agenda?

Be as specific as you can. Provide cited examples when possible.

Can you explain why she would want to do this?

A large number of his appointees are directly hostile to the mission of the agency they were nominated to lead.

Remember how he accused Clinton of being beholden to Goldman Sachs?
Four of his appointees are from Goldman Sachs.

Yeah, but you didn’t vote for a Libertarian. You voted for a Republican. The Republican Party that, in the last fifteen years, has started two wars, is opposed to public education, and is already champing at the bit to completely dismantle the social safety net. You voted for a candidate in particular who has suggested we murder the relatives of terrorists, said we should have opened fire on a Chinese military vessel because they made rude gestures at a US navy ship, and picked Betsy “Let’s burn public education to the ground” DeVos as secretary of education. Literally none of the things you listed as your values are shared by the party or the candidate you voted for.

“4/5 capitalism, 1/5 socialism,” is basically the Democratic platform in a nutshell. What you put in charge of this country is 5/5 oligarchy.

Emphasis added. Unfortunately, your “feelings of finding” logic and reason are not the same as actually using logic and reason.

You may enjoy the flattering sensation of being told that you’re exceptionally astute and perceptive for believing in libertarian dogma, but that’s no guarantee that you really are being astute and perceptive.
This sort of political sentimentalism, in which the motivating impulse is the emotional gratification of feeling wise rather than putting in the tedious scut work of actually acquiring any wisdom, is very common among libertarians and other self-described contrarians, particularly the young ones.

Then explain to me how in the past 8 years with one of the nations favorite democratic presidents, we haven’t moved forward one bit in terms of economy, but instead moved backwards tremendously.

The National Net Worth of the United States grew by over $25 trillion during Obama’s term. The unemployment rate has dropped to 4.9% (Remember that, in 2012, Romney vowed to drop it to 6% by this time). Dow near 20,000.

What are you talking about? Or is this a display of the feelings of logic which you pride yourself?

You’re going to have to define what “moving forward” and “moved backwards tremendously” mean. Since the end of the Great Recession, the economy has grown somewhat slowly but steadily, with corresponding job growth and for the most part, a similar steady reduction in those filing for unemployment.

This is a response to your question and the other person that practically asked the same thing.

People accuse Trump of having conflicts of interest, and appointing all these people that will destroy their respective positions (education, labor, food etc.), while all that may be true, and I by no means would’ve endorsed the majority of all his cabinet picks. You must look at the other side (I immediately disqualify the other candidates apart from Hillary because on top of the fact that they would’ve never won, they had horrible plans), you see a woman that has had her fair share of power, and the only things that have come out of it are corruption and lies. We have no clue whether or not Trump will do the same, but with Hillary it is certain. She may improve the education system and labor and make everyone happy with all the free stuff she would be giving, but that all would come at a cost, the greatest of them all. The economy would be crippled far beyond repair due to the great corruption, unhealthy doses of corporatism, and horrifying taxes. Although I understand the fact that education is incredibly important I raise you the economy, a system that without it, one wouldn’t have anywhere to go after college, a system that if neglected can lead to huge weak points in a country, and a system that when paid attention to and nourished correctly can lead to spectacular things. The damage that might be done to the education system or labor or whatever, will be far smaller than anything that could’ve happened if the economy were to be crippled.

That is neither specific or cited. Try again, this time with less feeling.

Nickerbot, your attempts to claim you would have voted for rational reasons are failing. You say you a libertarian and acknowledge Trump doesn’t represent any libertarian values - yet you would have voted for him anyway. You deplore Clinton’s connections with corporate America while ignoring the fact that Trump is corporate America.

You might as well admit that Trump pushed your emotional buttons.

The economy moves forward by itself, it requires no help from the president. When Obama helped us out of the 2008 crisis, he did so with great consequences. Instead of jailing the wrongdoers and letting the economy heal, he helped them and boosted the regen time of the economy by going into deeper debt. Some might see this as a good thing, but I can assure you that if he had transformed the economy (as I said before) into 4/5 capitalism and 1/5 socialism (which by no means what so ever is what we have today), the economy would have had a healthier recovery and would be set to create more jobs and money than ever before.

As I spoke of before, I chose out of the lesser evil. Note the word evil in both. Which ever one you would’ve chosen would’ve done some damage to the U.S, I chose which damages I could cope with and which ones I couldn’t. You people must keep in mind the fact that there were no “rational” decisions this Presidential Race, it was just choosing whichever one you were comfortable with.

The DOWI didn’t rise becuase of Obama, it recently spiked because of the tremendous hope that has been restored in all investors hearts. I am also not saying that Obama is a bad president, i just acknowledge the fact that in the 8 years he was in, he could’ve done a lot more things that congress would’ve agreed with.

Now think hard. Why do you believe this? Where did you hear it?

If you think about it, you’ll realize every story you’ve heard about Hillary Clinton started with somebody who had an agenda for telling you that story. And if you look at the stories, you’ll see how little evidence was ever produced to support any of them.

Hillary Clinton has been accused of murder and treason and kidnapping children and witchcraft. Has she ever been convicted of any of these? Has she ever been put on trial for any of these? Has she ever been arrested for any of these?

Did you ever notice all these stories get circulated when Clinton’s trying to do something like get elected or get a law passed? And as soon as the vote is over, the stories all get dropped?

If you want to be a real free thinker, start questioning what you’ve been told.

There was a rational choice in this election. You just didn’t make it. You fell for the propaganda.

As Neil Degrasse Tyson told us, the damage to education will affect us more than your feelings are telling you, and the Republicans are currently the wrong party to vote for, not only for education, but for economical reasons.

If you think education is costly, try ignorance; and it is clear that we will try ignorance for at least for 4 years.

You don’t actually follow the market, do you?
