Ooooh! Snap!
I’m not the one arguing how easy it would be. Are you old enough to drive? Wait until you go to the DMV to get your license.

So much for not hyperventilating.
I guess I don’t see the problem. I asked and got my full birth certificate after requesting it from the state.
Took a couple weeks, but I got it.
I think I got it for a passport. FYI
Trunp supporters: Hey, it’s cool if Trump doesn’t release his tax information, that’s um, yeah, private, that’s the ticket. How much information do we need? But Obama, hell yeah, we’re gonna need you to produce your birth cirtificate. We need that.
Trump supporters believing that they’re fooling those with eyes is mornically fucking delusional. But suits them, so there’s that.
So you acknowledge that Obama did, in fact, do everything reasonable to “kill the controversy in its infancy” by releasing his birth certificate in 2008, along with lots of other evidence like the newspaper announcements? Why did anyone continue to question it after that, and after the 2011 release of the state record?
Maybe you did, maybe you didn’t. depends on what state you’re in. Unless you’re in Hawaii, it doesn’t matter.
Hawaii has two forms, the short form for the person and the long form that the state keeps control of.
Hawaii could have refused Obama’s request for the long form and there was nothing that could be done.
Now, have I penetrated your thick skull or should I get out the power drill?
Nope.
After 2011? Dunno. I didn’t.
I know! I know!
(The same reason it was brought up in the first place.)
Pssss…[whispers]Because he’s black.[/whispers]
Why wasn’t releasing his birth certificate and other evidence in 2008 enough?
Birth certificates weren’t demanded of any candidate before Obama, and they haven’t been demanded of anyone since Obama, either. But it was demanded of Obama, and it was still questioned after he’d released it. People were looking for all kinds of intricacies in the law that might disqualify him. Ooh, his mother hadn’t spent five years in the U.S. after turning 18, or whatever the hell it was. At some point don’t you start wondering why he got such special treatment in this regard? It wasn’t his fault that those sorts of questions were raised, and nothing he could have done would have placated those who were asking them.
And you dodged my question. Without looking it up, do you know what state John McCain was born in?
In 2008, he released the same BC that is sufficient to get a passport. There is no process to get the long form.
On that note, one reason no one had bothered to ask any other presidential candidates for their BC is that they already presumably have satisfied the U.S. passport office about their citizenship by the fact that they’ve traveled internationally.
As a Canadian I have to say this is how I see the current election.
I have to wonder how many votes a ‘none of the above’ option would get this year.
Regarding your last question, no I don’t know where John McCain was born. Without looking it up.
I know he served in the military. I assume he had to be a citizen to do that.
In terms of Obama it was because his father was Kenyan and not much was known about him and/or how the effected the qualification of Obama (in terms of requirements to hold that office).
It was murky when it didn’t need to be.
It wasn’t murky after he released his birth certificate in 2008 along with a bunch of other evidence, with no contrary evidence. Why did you continue to doubt it?
Also, you don’t have to be a citizen to join the military. I served with a great sailor from Nicaragua who got his citizenship while in the military.
Is there a reason that you don’t know that? Is there a reason that you did not demand McCain’s birth certificate?
You do not have to be a citizen to serve in the military, but serving in the military is one way to become a citizen. Being a citizen is not enough to be pres, you have to be born here, which Obama proved several times over, and yet was still questioned. I don’t remember who it was that was questioning his BC and sending PI’s to Hawaii to get to the heart of the matter without looking it up myself, but I seem to remember he had a bit of an orange glow about him. Really familiar for some reason.
For all you know, he may have been born in Panama, because, for some reason, you do not care about his BC, but you do about Obama’s. Without looking it up, what makes you think that McCain had all the necessary credentials to be president?
I’ll agree that not all that much was known about Obama’s father, but as far as how it affected his qualifications, it was known very well. Not at all. Anyone questioning that is either stupid, or intentionally misleading.
What exactly are you claiming to be murky? The laws were clear, the evidence was clear. The only thing murky was in people’s heads. It couldn’t have been any clearer.
John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone (as it then was) in 1936. Does this make him a “natural-born citizen” under the Constitution? I never heard anybody even raise the issue when he was running against Obama.
I think I remember a bipartisan resolution saying it was the sense of Congress that McCain was qualified, but I’d have to look it up. It definitely came up, but not in a hostile way.
So, why hasn’t Hillary released her birth certificate? What is she hiding?
She doesn’t want people to know her middle name is Diane. Please, don’t tell anyone.
