This is absolutely and positively irrelevant information to the person you’re addressing. These words might as well be gibberish written by an illiterate life form from a planet on the other side of the universe for all the attention they will be paid by the poster you’ve just quoted.
Every poster here and all their opinions are important to me. But I can’t keep on replying to everything that I disagree with.
Factual assertions can be analyzed for accuracy and truthfulness, and Trump measures far, far worse than any other candidate on these measures. He’s terrible at saying things that are true. When saying anything factual, he’s usually lying or inaccurate, and probably often both.
I don’t care if you ignore individual posters. What you seem to be doing is ignoring actual facts.
And we are not practicing any “appeasement” in that form. Muslims who want to immigrate to the U.S. have to jump through the same hoops as Mexicans do or be classed as illegals – and are not so well positioned to sneak over the border. There is no good reason why the barrier should be any higher for Muslims than infidels, and making it any higher would go clean against the 1st Amendment. Muslim American husbands who try to treat their wives like chattel will indeed face some condemnation, and in many cases will find that their wives have figured out they don’t have to take that shit here. And they can forget about having their daughters’ clitorises excised, you can get arrested for that here.
See the difference between the belief system of Imperial Japan and today for an example of the neutering of a death-cult that did not resort to genocide. The greatest beneficiaries of this reform are of course the Japanese themselves, who now have one of the highest standards of living in the world.
New Instagram ad from the Trump campaign suggests that letting Bill back into the White House would be a misogynistic mistake.
Going to be an interesting general election. Trump is going to be absolutely ruthless.
State Shinto was no older than the Meiji Restoration. Japan being conquered, it was easy to “neuter” it to the extent of the Emperor renouncing divine status. Islam is fourteen centuries old, and is not only a faith but a civilization, and no one Muslim can surrender on its behalf.
I have a prediction:
Trump will pull black voters from Hillary by comparing the treatment that Bill Cosby has gotten to that of Bill Clinton, and suggesting that the difference is due to Cosby’s race and the Clinton’s privilege as powerful white politicians.
Bill Cosby’s favorable vs unfavorables were 25%/59% among all Americans, as of last summer.
However:
Among those who still view him favorably there is a sense that the attack on him is an attempt to erase the legacy of a respected and inspirational black leader:
The Truth About The Attacks On Bill Cosby
Conspiracy claims surround Bill Cosby debate
Trump will bring up this issue in an ambiguous enough way that it will be read as a defense of Cosby by those inclined to think Cosby is innocent, but will be seen only as an attack on Bill Clinton, and a calling out of a double standard applied to him for being white or being a politician, by the majority of Americans who think Cosby is guilty.
I gotta say the fact Cornel West and James Zogby are on the DNC platform committee is the Dems playing with fire. It’s only gonna help Trump make this election a referendum on PCness.
The problem with Hank’s theory is that Trump has gotten away with worst than Clinton, who at least took heat from Congress over his actions. Trump has been given a white privilege pass all of his life.
The only black folks who would support Trump are largely lost souls. The types who are about as racial conscious as slime mold and lap from the same trough of low-information as their white brethren. You shouldnt assume they would have any special allegiance toward Cosby.
Wow, those black people are really gonna be lining up to vote for Trump. Trump’s gonna compare Cosby to Clinton! Aw, fuck!
Seriously?
Trump is off the radar right now, because the Republican primary is over. The Democratic primary is still going on, but will be over on June 7, which is two weeks from now.
Can you all wait 2 weeks without peeing your pants over the polls?
Once people start comparing Trump, who is the person the Republican party selected as their nominee for the office of president, to Clinton, then what’s going to happen?
Trump’s going to be a nasty campaigner? Oh, my God! Because the Republicans were all kid gloves before now.
Trump did OK in the Republican debates because he could run his mouth and deliver zingers and stand out from the crowd. And none of those assholes wanted to attack Trump, because they figured he’d shoot himself in the foot sooner or later, and they didn’t want to offend the Trump supporters. So they were played smart and kept their mouths shut. And look where it got them.
And now we’ve had 3 weeks of nobody attacking Trump, and Trump keeping a lower profile, if that’s what you want to call it. And the less people see of Trump the more they forget what an incredible asshole he is.
The general election hasn’t started yet. Hillary still has to finish the primary, which she will win on June 7, unless Bernie gets something like 80% of the remaining delegates, and on the strength of that convince the superdelegates to abandon Clinton. So Clinton will be the nominee, but she still has two more weeks before that actually happens.
But the general election isn’t going to play to Trump’s strengths. He’s not going to get up on stage every few days for free media like he did in the primary. He’s not going to play the other candidates against each other, because he’s facing Hillary. He’s not going to turn people against Hillary because she had Vince Foster murdered, or she said something incorrect about a video one time. The Republicans have been campaigning against Hillary for 20 years, you think 2016 is the year when America will finally realize that Hillary is evil?
Somehow I can’t picture Trump’s success in the general election. Wouldn’t surprise me if he dropped out before November, Ross Perot style. Never can tell what Trump’s gonna do. He relies on his unpredictability! Keep em guessing.
Don’t forget that for years Cosby, though a liberal himself in most ways, was spouting things that are anathema to liberals and Democrats, such as that young black men should stop fathering babies out of wedlock and abandoning the mothers, that they should pull their pants up and study hard in school, and that young blacks in general should learn and use proper grammar and knock it off with ebonics.
And the reason for all this un-PC scolding? Nope, not Alzheimers. Not senility. And certainly not racism (the de regueur claim should a white person dare to say the same). No, it was so they could actually get ahead in the world and live happy and successful lives. And for this daring bit of glaringly obvious common sense, he was thoroughly excoriated by the left.
I’m guessing that if it had been…oh, let’s say, Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, or that other paragon of black virtue, Barack Obama, doing the same thing we’d scarcely have heard about it. Or to the degree we had, questions would have been raised as to how some of these women wound up in his room in the middle of the night in their pajamas in the first place. Or how the miscreant in question managed to somehow levitate women from the bathroom door into bed, seemingly under their own power, and thus make themselves available for unwanted masturbatory services. And I’m sure the media would question whether standing in front of a woman sitting on a sofa, with her head therefore quite naturally at pelvic height, really constituted sexual assault on the part of the standee.
But no. Instead it was ol’ Bill “Pull-Up-Your-Pants-And-Get-An-Education” Cosby. And boy, has he been paying the price for speaking truth to political correctness.
I don’t think Bill Cosby is going to be much of an issue. Seems to me that immigration is a wedge issue that can peel off black voters, if Trump is unsubtle enough in his appeals. Democrats have been quite happy to make direct racial appeals to black voters and there’s no reason Trump shouldn’t do the same, only with Latinos as the threat rather than whites.
nobody cares about the Cosby thing…I do think its sad that his message to young blacks, which was generally the message that needed to go out more, is now tainted by the allegations, allegations which I’m not terribly sure of (I feel like BLM, Crump, Sharpton/Jackson sought to destroy him or else he would’ve put BLM’s extreme tactics down).
Trump getting a lot of black vote? I don’t know; while true there’s no black on the D-ticket, given how much Obama will prob campaign for Hillary (not for any love loss, but to preserve his legacy), she probably won’t lose too much. Like Adaher said, Trump would have to pit blacks against Hispanics, which could backfire badly.
If immigration could attract black voters, if would have happened years ago. Why are yall acting like Trump is the first Republican to run on this issue?
The idea that black people will flock to Trump in significant numbers is a pipe dream, IMO. His treatment of Obama and the birther mess is still a fresh memory, as is his casting aspersions on Obama’s college qualifications because of racial assumptions regarding affirmative action.
He is already doing it, and has been for a while now.
He does not need to win over a lot of black voters. Right now he has at least one in twenty black votes, more likely two in twenty. If he gets three in twenty he is the next president.
First, all Republican nominees have been liberal on immigration, regardless of what they’ve said in the primaries. Secondly, none have made direct appeals to African-Americans about those Latinos taking their jobs. It’s just not done. Trump would do it though and from what I’ve read, it’s actually part of his plan.
You don’t need them to flock. 5% more than the typical Republican is all you need given how important the black vote is in swing states.
Just what liberals do you think consider that anathema? Established liberal leaders (such as, say, Barack Obama) have been saying all of those things for generations.
