Trump vs Clinton in the General Election

Maybe Trump was asleep?

How about a little context rather than a deliberately edited video.

And if you believe that, I have this bridge in NYC for sale. High traffic, high visibility…

3 am is not an unusual time for one to be sleeping is it?

You mean he doesn’t want to take that phone call at 3 a.m.?

How do you know anyone was calling The Donald? This is just silly. In a country the size of the US something sad or bad is usually happening. You can’t wake someone up for every event just so they can tweet some sympathy.

You think Mayor Rahm is woken up every time someone gets shot in Chiraq?

FWIW the motive seems to have been homophobia than religion.

In fairness, I don’t think this is an event that requires waking up a President, or a candidate. He, or she, should certainly get briefed on it along with coffee. I think taking that phone call at 3 am should be reserved for things like Canada invading; things that require swift and decisive actions that only a president can order.

Okay, so an abortion clinic bombing has nothing to do with religion, it’s about hatred of abortion.

It appears that Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick has repented and found the error of his ways regarding his initial comments about the greatest mass shooting in the U.S.

Oh, that spins itself. Lets change the words of Trump just little when he pointed at Bush the lesser for 9/11:

‘The terror attack came down during the reign of [del]Lord Voldemort[/del] governor Rick Scott, That is not safe, Marco [Rubio], that is not safe…’ Why was Scott not tough, smart or vigilant?

BTW I do think that Trump did use a dick move there, one can point at negligence then, but most of the blame should go to the perpetrators and how Bush reacted later (invading Iraq). We will see now how one of the best supporters of Trump (Republican governor Rick Scott) does react to this incident.

Oh. But if I understand correctly doesn’t homophobia usually stem from some sort of repressive moralistic teaching or is it an intrinsic trait?

IMHO more the latter than the former, the intrinsic fear and hatred of that which is different from what you accept as normative. Yes religion can institutionalize that fear and hatred and amplify it through groupthink reinforcers, but it is religion being used as a tool in service of what is more primary fear and hatred of otherness, rather than being the root cause.

If this is so, then he is not quite as loathesome a pustule as we might have thought.

IMHO it would be dumb to dismiss either reason. It has to be clarified that I’m referring to radicalization and extreme fundamentalism and if the time line is correct on the reports I saw the homophobia appeared first on that bastard that was born in the USA, and I would not be surprised that he wanted to get a stamp of approval for his hatred and found it much later in extremism.

That’s correct. Clinton and Trump can both address terrorism and they can come at guns from opposite sides, but Clinton can work the gay angle also and Trump can’t touch it.

Trump already owns the issue, based on his previous inflammatory statements. No way Hilary can do anything but play catch up, and even there, she can’t make the kind of forceful, inflammatory statements Trump makes routinely.

Trump has just won Florida for the general.

He’ll win Ohio, PA, VA, and NC too, of course. That’s all he needs.

See, that’s just depressing. The guy who can talk tough but has no idea what he’s on about is seen as better on an issue than someone with tons of actual policy experience high in the executive branch, merely because the tough-talker is willing to shit out of his mouth every couple of minutes. I’m so glad I left the USA, it seems to be getting collectively more and more stupid.

Yes, it would be depressing if true.

I don’t buy it. He is being seen as better by those who are already Republicans.
