Trump will not debate Biden on June 27, 2024, or thereafter either

Trump IS an unhinged maniac. He frequently does things that show it. Fear that he will look like an unhinged maniac has never stopped him acting before.

“And the one with the changing table is at the end of the hall.”

Apparently they will mute the mic of B when A is having a question put to them. Seems sensible to me; even if Biden did better in the last debate, all most people saw was clips of crosstalk.

I’m expecting it to have a big effect on Trump though. I’m genuinely expecting him to start shouting, waving his hands or even trying to walk over to Biden’s mic. There’s no way he’ll be able to patiently listen to criticism.

I wholeheartedly endorse both responses.

No, that’s why I want Donnie Jr and Hunter there as well. I’m pretty sure Hunter could take Donnie Jr in a fight, and it would make for great TV.

He’s had a lot of practice in court recently.

No, I expect him to pout and sulk like a five year old.

I don’t know why you think that is what will happen. It only happened in the courtroom because he was slapped down and threatened with jail for saying things out loud and having exaggerated reactions during testimony.

At the debate there will be no penalty for any misbehavior. I highly doubt it will be limited to sulking and pouting.

The decidion on Rahimi came down this morning, and astonishingly, the court got it right. 8-1 agreed that restrictions on domestic abusers with restraining orders against them having firearms wasn’t a step too far. The lone holdout, and you can guess who that was, said that there wasn’t any historical document saying they couldn’t arm violent wifebeaters, or some other such nonsense.

During his last debate with Biden, Trump actually thought he was doing well and scoring points while they were onstage. It wasn’t until the debate was over and he saw what the press was saying that Trump realized his behavior hurt him and Biden had come out ahead. Trump is capable of controlling himself when he knows it’s in his best interest to do so.

That said, you’re not wrong. While I think Trump is going to do his best to do things differently than he did last time, who the hell knows what he’ll do? Even in softball interviews he cannot handle anyone who pushes back against anything he says. It’ll be interesting.

Perhaps in the past. I don’t think he’s capable of that anymore.

He didn’t do that in 2020 and he’s not going to do it this time. He’s about as likely to drop to the floor and challenge Biden to a push-up contest.

The mics weren’t muted last time. And he tried to talk over every Biden answer.

Yes they were.

The mics were muted some of the time, during one of the debates.

Anyway, I’m prepared to wager that trump will not be content to silently wait his turn, and will do one of the things I listed. We can check back after the debate

I am looking forward to this. Its going to be…entertaining.

am i the only person that thinks society would be improved by a concidential flaming meteor or asteroid landing in the specific area …

Trump is a coward who’s averse to any form of physical confrontation. He’ll stand there and sulk.

I don’t think Trump has even one particle of fear that Biden would do anything physical if Trump walked the ten feet or so between podiums or even put a hand on Biden’s podium.

I do agree that Trump is a physical coward. But his fears of what could happen to him in the criminal justice system if his remaining trials go forward will certainly outweigh any thoughts of Joe laying a hand on him. (Biden has no reputation whatsoever for such conduct.)

Trump knows that his millions of fans would interpret his taking over Biden’s mic as “manly” and “strong” and “what a leader does.” Trump Plays By His Own Rules would be the approving headline on all right-wing media.‘’

He has no reason not to do it. Any thoughts of caution along the lines ‘moderates may not like this’ will fail to enter his Swiss-cheesed brain.

CNN needs to come up with a concrete strategy.

Concrete wall maybe?
