My thought on pretty much the same issue, from another thread:
The Alternate Slate of Electors scheme was inarguably a considered and concerted attempt to make an end run around both the Constitution and the will of the people.
Anybody who simply believe it couldn’t, wouldn’t, and won’t happen again is self-deluding.
I don’t know that it will, but there’s no rational basis for concluding it won’t.
