It’s funny that people who think Obama was the worst President ever and everything he did was wrong, are now using those same actions to defend the current President. Makes me laugh
Her oath of office is to support and defend the Constitution, it doesn’t say fuck all about the President. When someone believes the two are in conflict, their duty is to disobey.
So, yes. Kudos for “disobeying your President” and not abandoning our Constitution.
I believe Trump is operating under the well established political philosophy, “L’etat c’est moi.”
Yep. She followed her (and numerous federal judges) determination about that constitutionality of the legislation. And President Hissy Fit fired her for it, as he is able to do. I think it’s a much better system than having nothing but yes-people following every order they’re given without thinking. YMMV.
But every President doesn’t make a statement declaring his intentions to do so. Even the liberal newspaper I linked to, The Washington Post, questions whether Obama is to blame for Trump’s readiness to issue executive orders. In other words it’s not all in my fevered right-wing brain. In fact I hadn’t even thought of Obama until reading the article.
If you’re going to play the hypocrisy card, you have to have fully supported Obama when he did it.
Per AP Radio News, the Attorneys General of Massachusetts and New York have now joined suit. As has the Mayor (IIRC) of San Francisco.
This is a really poor analogy. “Safe” doesn’t have a set value, it depends on context. Safe for flying a plane is different than safe for winning an election is different than safe for eating food that’s been in the fridge two days too long is different than safe for trusting a movie critic.
It makes me laugh too. In fact, I was raring up for all the yucks as soon as Election Day. If one did not realize that the Republicans were going to fluff Trump at every turn where they took a dump on Obama, then one knows nothing about American politics. Especially American Republicans.
Fuck sakes, how many bullshit arguments did we hear about, “Who does Obama think he is with all these executive orders? Emperor or something?” Not a goddamned peep out of a single Republican when Trump starts scribbling EO’s like a four-year-old with place mat at TGI-Friday’s.
Followed closely by “après moi le déluge.”
Kudos for obeying the Constitution, which the so-called president also swore an oath to obey and uphold. I want a cite as to which “legal experts” you are talking about, and Nazi Steve Bannon doesn’t count.
What the merde are you guys talking about?
I want our spineless, worthless Congress to ask Sessions the exact same questions. But you did read and understand what was going on …
It’s only OK to fight OBAMA and use the Constitution and law to do it. If it’s Trump, that’s ummm different.
Then no laws, courts, or anything else matter.
Heil Trump.
I’ll tell you on Bastille day…
Bullshit. it was coming sooner or later.
It’s right there in Yates’ statement. The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel which decided that the Executive Order was “lawful on its face and properly drafted”.
This might be a relevant opinion piece: Sen. Sessions reacts: We must stop Emperor Obama
I laughed!
“Bound to”? You seem uncertain.
Devant moi, if the reports are true.
That piece of “learned bullshit” came only after Trump installed one of his stooges, Dana Boente. Try again.
I’ll put my trust in the courts instead.
P.S. You are now on my ignore list too. I won’t waste my time on you anymore.
