Yeah, that’s kind of general. I mean, most liberals are saddened by wealthy people getting away with crimes and massive oil spills, but I don’t see how those would make most others happy.

I’m a Canadian, but also someone, no doubt, you wouldn’t like very much due to my political leanings. Generally I’m less sad than I am annoyed. I think the world as a whole over the long term moves in one direction in terms of it’s overall politics. I’ve lately felt that this feels more like the last stand of the far right conservatives than it does a movement. It’s just a shame so many will get hurt. A lot of which, ironically enough, voted for the man himself.
Maybe I’m wrong, just an outsider’s perspective.

I think you’re right. The Democrats are not intervening because it has to play itself out as a failure; the world has to rise up and stop it, and democracy has to be visibly demonstrated by the people. It’s a kick up the butt of the complacent.
