Simple topic, how do you view Donald Trump’s performance for the past 10 days? At the time of this topic, It’s 9 days since inauguration, but we’re close to 10, so I’d figure I’d start a day early (and it’s Sunday where everyone is either at Church, taking a long nap or having fun). There’s a poll above you and it’ll be shut by Tuesday at 2AM, CST.

In my opinion, Trump has brought plenty of action as of late, which is a welcome change compared to the previous administration where it was mostly slow going. “Positively” is what I put, he doesn’t get a total approval from me, but at least he got the ball rolling quickly and living up to promises (and which politicians live up to promises nowadays?)
EDIT: Must have been the second voter, it’s a 50/50 tie between positive and very negative. (In my math, that’s a 2.5, neutral, but slightly negative.) Let’s not influence the poll by revealing results, otherwise it’s going to be an improper measure on how dopers feel about the person right now.

For some people, they feel the solution is to blow up the car, burn the parts with a blowtorch, then piss on the remains.
Then blame the mechanic who fixed the car up after the first owner filled the gas tank with shit.
Maybe I should have gotten to the gritty things as to what I like. Actions on immigration from foreign countries containing Muslims for one, is a welcome change. Especially that part where he’s giving 90 days for agencies to figure out how we’re going to root out extremists. Withdrawal from TPP and the United States federal hiring freeze is also a welcome change.
I’m wait and see on other issues, and the rest of the actions Trump will or may take in the next couple of days, but for now, he’s looking promising.
It’s all very positive.
Isn’t he doing exactly how/what/why/when his publicity machine said they’d do? Isn’t that what’s supposed to happen?
Were you hoping for the notion of governing for all Americans would induce some Damascus road conversion? That’d you’d bought a pig in a poke and actually come up with roast pork, apple sauce and crackling?
Now I don’t like the immediate effects of what’s been done/announced, let alone the long term consequences. But (the collective) you guys put him in the room. Bite me.
How do you like the way he picked countries whose citizens have never committed terrorists acts on US soil, and left the door open for all the countries whose citizens have actually committed terrorist acts, and where Trump has business interests?

As a vengeful, tantrum-throwing toddler who, by a fit of mass insanity, got handed the most important job in the world. And it’s working out like you might expect.

as this strange order he has done that has made the american government look like a gross incompetent.
but he is showing theappetite for the tyupe of the religious bigotry and hatred that leads in the end to the brownshirts and the fragile tolerance of the religious minorities in your culture.

There aren’t enough negatives in this poll to show how negative I view him. His supporters probably love it, but his actions are alarming everyone else. The muslim ban, which shouldn’t have been done in the first place, was horribly executed, catching people, and govt agencies, off-guard. Why include green card holders? That’s just idiotic

This poll doesn’t surprise me any, though. Trump was never going to be popular around here, no matter what he did and does.
Absolutely untrue. Many of us look forward to giving credit where credit is due. We have no reason to hate a particular individual just for the sake of hating. That would be pointless.
Many of us on this board truly hope Trump does good things. It will be our pleasure to prove your prediction (of our knee-jerk condemnation) wrong.
Trump is well within his domain to step up deportation of undocumented immigrants, but starting a trade war with Mexico over an expensive wall that **we (YOU, too) will pay for **is counterproductive.
Banning immigration from some Muslim majority countries while failing to include Saudi Arabia (by far the largest sponsor of radical ideology and which accounted for 80 percent of the 9/11 terrorists) is also silly.
It might make you feel good, but it’s not accomplishing much.
