Hell, I would actually subsidize their wages to see white liberals picking crops. Make it a 30/hr job. What you’re going to find out is that they believe manual labor is great for brown people. White people. Not so much.
Most of us are well educated and can earn that and more in the market as it is. That doesn’t mean we can’t empathize with those who work so hard for so little for the things that we take for granted.

I believe you are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong…wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong…wrong. I am a white liberal, I know dozens of white liberals, and they’d (we’d) all be thrilled to have a job that paid $30/hr. I already bust my ass at a desk job plus my own small business that’s 75% physical labor working with small farms that are almost 100% white. And I know a lot of unemployed factory workers that would kill for a job you describe. So I’m not sure what or who it is you’re talking about.
It’s not the media doing anything. It’s wishful thinking because no reporter is actually going to forego the opportunity to ask Trump a question at his next press conference when called upon just because he didn’t call on CNN. And I imagine that if any reporter did, they’d be promptly fired by whichever company they work for.
This is actually the one thing that might let me sleep at night. Trump is just the sort of megalomaniac who would try to use the intelligence apparatus of the United States to investigate his enemies and hide any malfeasance on his part. However if he constantly denigrates them it is unlikely that they will work on his behalf. The only concern would be if tries to purge the entire civil service and replace it with his cronies, but at least then we will see it coming.
If he came up from behind her and grabbed her a la GeeDubya, she’d break his arms. And if there were a video, I would pay twenty bucks to have it. Hell, I’d pay that much just to see it! Once!
I’d love to put it to a test. Not to blue collar factory workers but the Trump protesters with blue hair.
My broader assertion is that a false narrative has been created that overstates our need for immigration. If we need more farm workers, the wages should increase rather than increase the labor supply. By allowing illegals into the country, we’re subverting the free market. If at 30/hr, there are still shortages then let’s increase the immigration.
It’s not an unreasonable guess, lord knows, but that’s not what the CNN photo showed. The link you posted is not to a reputable news org, and all I could find searching for confirmation of this was places like Dem Underground and Altleft parroting the same speculation.
(I will say that the folders look suspiciously clean, crisp, and unlabeled in the photo, though I suppose they could’ve been facedown.)
