And you’re concerned that Republicans are saying what they’ve already been saying for years? Why?
Because they’ll try to steal the 2024 election? As they tried in 2020 and were indicted for?
None of your concerns are about anything new, nor do they have anything to do with this case.
The Republicans will say a lot of things. The more zealous may even believe them, in private. Fifty years from now, if still a democracy, there may finally be some soul searching about what happens when the intellectual principles of a traditional party are sacrificed wholesale to an empty cult of personality. Or perhaps efforts to learn anew how to locate the spine.
Trump still has a chance of winning, of course. Maybe something more than mere pettifoggery will be accomplished. Don’t hold your breath.
Well, yeh, that’s the thing about probation; it comes with real consequences if the conditions are violated.

Concerns are not new but in years past most Republicans were willing to accept the decisions of the people and the courts. If George W Bush was convicted of a felony the GOP would have rejected him.
MAGA has been trying to get Biden put in court over his handling of secret documents and Hunter’s tax. I’m not in the US so not sure if it has been mentioned but will all future elections be fought in the courts as every presential candidate has several charges brought against them by prosecuters with a leaning toward the other party?

Great news on the verdict! I was skeptical it would end this way, but I’m glad it has. Now come the predictable claims of lawfare and political persecution. His cultists were never going to accept this result.
I do keep my eye on a right-wing/MAGA message board, but I have not checked it in at least the last ten hours. I’m afraid to. Note that I mostly read and rarely post there, but still. I don’t need to read comments about “Biden’s doing!” and “Lawfare!” and “Corruption!” and especially threats against anybody and everybody who is not a part of Team Trump.
It’s late here, but I’ll have another nightcap, and another puff on my pipe, and watch the end of a silly DVD movie; and go to bed without being riled up by all that crap on that other message board. Looking after my mental health, is all.

Well, he finally won the popular vote.
I’ve gotten a few parking/speeding tickets, which I took care of in a timely manner, but I’ve never had a felony conviction. Hell, I’ve never even been charged with a felony!
I hope Kevin is on speed dial. This is the sort of situation where he’s too upset to eat.
