Back when I was a lab assistant for my university’s second-semester programming class, we were pretty harsh about requiring comments. In the worst case, a student could lose 20% of the value of an assignment by turning in a piece with no comments.
One student, quite miffed about missing that 20%, turned in his next assignment complete with a comment on every line (including the whitespace) and added a diatribe about our bizarre grading policies and how functionally correct code ought to be worth a perfect score. I wrote him a brief note about the exact value of functionally correct but undocumented code and gave him a 20% penalty for turning in code that was hard to read, as was also allowed under our grading criteria.

Great. I’m pretty sure that, when it comes to this, inquiring minds are most enthusiastic about NOT wanting to know. But hey, I don’t mind telling, and I’ll spoilerize it to spare the hearts and minds of the innocent.
When I was a kid, I used to do it by rubbing against the bed. I grew out of that, but years of doing it that way does leave one sensitized in certain areas and less so in others. So, what I do these days is wrap my hand in some sort of soft cloth (easier than keeping lube around), cup my palm, and kind of go to town onto that. Similar to the old method, but can be done in an upright (or any other) position.
