Hmm. What comes to mind is this: I was travelling by overnight train. On the same train, in the seats nearby, were two women travelling with two children. They were all travelling together, and had bought tickets with the intention that they would all be able to sit together. For som reason, the tickets they had been given were such that two of them would sit on one side of the aisle, and two on the other. They asked me if I could switch with one of them, so that they could sit together, but I did not want to (I forget why, but it wasn’t any particularly good reason). I still feel guilty about it occasionally.
I’ll be travelling by overnaight train again for Christmas. Maybe I’ll have an opportunity to do better this time :).

Oh yes. When I was a kid I had a pretty severe case of urinary incontinence. I’d wet the bed, etc. I wasn’t able to go to sleepovers until I was old enough to limit myself to no drinks after 6 PM. But once I was at a fine restaurant with my mom, and I was actually kind of dressed up. I was 10 YO, and wearing the prettiest dress. Well, I dunno - after the meal I didn’t go to the bathroom and everyone kept talking, and talking, and talking, and I finally couldn’t hold it anymore. It didn’t all come out, but some of it. No one noticed, or if they did, they didn’t comment.
The doctors tried to figure it out like crazy but it finally stopped all by itself a year later, at age 11.
I was in India several years ago when a fairly minor earthquake hit. Minor, but it was enough to wake everyone in the house - it was around 2 AM - except for me and my cousin. We both slept like logs right through it, and endured plenty of ribbing the next day.
That’s it - no more natural disasters.

probably not quite what you’re asking, but I gave my mom quite a surprise when I told her I got engaged. Kinda came out of left field.
Right now, I’m knitting my fiance a blanket; i give better presents than surprises.
