Years aago, when I first stumbled upon it, PokerPages.com was alive with witty intelligent players, and with the play and the chatter, the games were deleriously fun.
Now, we have mostly moronic mutes, but quite a few good players who’ll keep you on your toes.
My favorite tourney is Texas Hold 'em, in which you get 10,000 in play money. Lose it and you’re gone. In the old days we’d get 800-900 players (10/table) but nowadays 150 players would probably be a lot.
The Hold em games all start up at 20 past the even hours of the day all day long. 8:20, 10:20, 12:20, etc., seven days a week.
You are also able to determine the Ranking of most of your opponents by pressing the Ranking Tab of the “Logged In As” window, and typing in the User Name. Some will not be ranked for lack of playing time; some won’t even be listed. In any event you can record the info in the opponent’s avatar - along with stuff like Total Dumbfuck, and other pleasantries.
There are any number of different games available there - both for play and real money. FWIW, I don’t - and never have - played for real money online.
I have been playing like a horse’s ass this month and last, what with the meds I’ve been taking, but I assure I have won several tourneys and just yesterday finished second.
So please drop by. We need some Straight Dope Bon Vivaants, and some scowling foul-mouthed sons of bitches to liven up the proceedings
I play under the same User Name that I have here.
