Trying to remember a video game

I used to play this PC demo about 7-10 years ago (I think). I don’t remember the name of it but what I recall is it was based in Egypt and you were a modern-day (U.S.) military guy who had to run around looking for bad guys and shoot them. Then when I was done, I’d always climb to the top of the pyramid and jump off, killing myself.

Not a lot to go on, but I was wondering if anyone had any clue. Thanks!

Could it be Serious Sam? Serious Sam: The First Encounter was set in Egypt, and Sam had access to modern weaponry, and fought hordes of aliens. I don’t know if Sam was in the military.

Nah, it was based in reality…the bad guys were terrorists or something (I should have specified in the original post).

Probably Delta Force: Land Warrior. The date sorta fits (it’s a 2000 game), the first level was a hostage rescue in the pyramids of Egypt, and demos are often the first level so…

Herearesomescreenshots.

That’s it!

Ha ! My Game-Fu is the strongest

I remember that series. One of the first FPSs to have anything close to modelling ballistics & bullet drop, because it was built on the shell of a helicopter sim (Comanche 3). The levels were fucking gigantic, and you’d hardely ever see more of the “bad guys” than a couple of black pixels moving on the horizon
