So there I am, minding my own business, surfing to my normal pages, and lo and behold, the ‘worse than hell’ section of T-Shirt Hell is gone…

I started this web site on my terms and will continue to run it as I see fit. Removing shirts that affect many people in a negative way is just not exciting to me anymore and that doesn’t make me lame or a sell out. It would only be a sell out if I sold shirts that I no longer agreed with just to make a profit. It would be lame to let someone else tell me how to run my business. I still have a great team. We still have the best artists, and the most talented writers, and we will continue to make the most kick ass t-shirts around.

Heh, loudly protesting that you aren’t a sellout in a statement put up before people even had a chance to start accusing you is usually a good sign that you’ve sold out. :dubious:
Bet he got a new advertiser or is planning on selling his shirts in Hot Topic or something and they required him to remove the really offensive ones before they signed.

I’ve never been one to draw attention to myself in public, so I’d have to pass on most of the shirts on that site.

The thing about tshirt slogans is that they’re only funny once. Personally, I applaud the guy getting rid of the tasteless ones. Doing things just to shock and provoke for no good reason seems pretty stupid to me. Plus, it’s his business. You gotta go with your heart. (And before the accusation takes wing, no, I’m not a “politically correct” sort of person. But neither do I couch rudeness by saying I’m “un-PC”.)

For the record, there were no outside influences. There was no lawsuit. I wasn’t visited in the middle of the night by The Nation of Islam, and my girlfriend did not give birth to a gay, black, autistic baby.

There was no desire to go “mainstream” to pick up endorsements or advertising. There will not be a T-Shirt Hell ride at Disneyworld, and we are not going to sponsor Ashley Simpson’s next tour. Her next anal gangbang video maybe, but not her tour.

I am not sure if it is from the “Worse than Hell”-section, but I wear my T-shirt Hell shirt with pride.
It has a big marihuana-leaf on it with the text “I help fund international terrorism”.

I feel daring when I wear my “Your favorite band sucks” T-shirt (from The Onion) out in public.

So I’m sure that **all ** of the Worse Than Hell T-shirts would be too extreme for me.
