Website t-shirts

Okay, a lot of sites that I visit regularly have t-shirts for sale.

Should I buy them? If I buy them, should I wear them in public? I guess there’s no point in buying a shirt that you’re not going to wear.

Maybe it depends on what’s on the shirt. Some of the shirts I’m considering are:

http://www.theonion.com - “Area Man” shirt.
http://www.reallifecomics.com - “Shirt-Fu” shirt.
http://www.emotioneric.com - “Eric Conveys: intrigue” shirt.

Let’s make this a poll, actually:

Have you ever bought a t-shirt for a website? What was it, and do you wear it often or at all?

I sell T-shirts through my web site, and I often wear 'em when I go out. I think you should definitely buy several of my shirts!

Seriously, buying a T-shirt on the web is no worse than buying one at the mall – check out the design and the material, and if you like it, go for it.

No, never bought such a t-shirt. Rarely wear t-shirts.

Buy them and wear them proudly!

Oh yeah, the reason I asked is because I don’t want to look like too much of a weirdo. Like people not serving me coffee because my shirt sucks. I wouldn’t be able to deal with that. The world’s a pretty tough place as it is…

You really think people won’t serve you coffee because of your t-shirt?

I bought a T-shirt from the now-defunct TimmyBigHands site. It was a humor site written by ex-MST3K writers. Of course, no one had a clue.

Sorry I was just being silly. I know I could still get coffee.

I guess I made this thread because I was afraid that getting these shirts would make me look stupid and was wondering what other people thought of them.

I wear shirts I order from the Greyhound rescue org. websites I frequent drool over…I just love hounds. Sometimes I think someone might mistake my http://www.greyhoundgang.com t-shirt as some sort of frequent bus-rider club shirt (“dude, whadda lame-oh”) but the caption on the front: “adopt a 45mph couch potato” kind of belies that idea.
Check out these cuties.

Also http://www.bark.com (“Dog is my co-pilot”) I love that mag, and wish it was monthly.

These are the few groups I don’t mind being a walking advertisement for…Daddy always tol’ me it don’t make no sense fer ya tu be payin sumbuddy to adbertize fer them. But if you like people, like their mission, want to help them out, why not? Wield that power of the almighty dollar.

I bought several T-shirts from http://www.bolt.com back when I frequented their alternative religion and piercing boards. Their shirts are designed by members of the site and are very cool and individual.

I also have five or six shirts from http://www.bmezine.com (WARNING! The front page usually has some REALLY explicit photos on it! Go at your own risk!). These shirts are really nifty if you want to support the body-mod community. Here’s the T-shirt page. Again, be warned – some of the shirts have pretty explicit images on 'em too. My favourite one is the shirt that has an image of a CBR – the hoops usually used in piercings – and the words GUESS WHERE. Eheheheheh.
