And that is the true fact which TubaDiva reported: that she had received an accusation against SM.
So take this at it’s face value:
I call TubaDiva a LIAR. And I have proof. She acted solely in a self-serving vindictive manor to lash out against someone she didn’t know solely based on his status as a RSO. I can back this claim and accusation. The question is will she answer it.
I would think they talked with their attorneys and were told that the threat of a lawsuit from any party was essentially nil, despite what a lot of very upset non-attorneys on the messageboards were insisting.

Oh, I agree. However, you are never going to be able to completely protect yourself from frivolous lawsuits. It’s the cost of doing business nowadays that you could be sued no matter what happens.

No, I don’t. If you show me your proof and you convince me, then great; if you show me your proof and you don’t convince me, then that’s fine, too. If, however, you show me your proof and it’s completely unconvincing, to such a degree that I don’t believe you made this claim in good faith, THEN I’ll say you acted unethically.
If you’re making some other point through this post, you’ll need to clarify.

My concerns haven’t changed…but after about 7 pages talking about how she had violated SMs privacy, it’s all been pretty well covered. I admit I hadn’t even thought about the issue from the P.O.V. of the person who reported him until recently, but now that I have, I see that her violation of their trust was as bad, if not worse, than her violation of SMs trust.

Yup, Lynn Bodoni hasn’t commented in here since her original threat to lock the thread because it wasn’t changing minds. She never answered or explained her comments after being called to the mat about it.
Or, maybe. Just maybe, everyone has been told not to discuss the issue, in part to protect the identity of the minor who reported SM. I know that may shake your worldview that they are trying to protect someone, but, they have said, over and over again that they can’t discuss the issue. jester21 asking for tubadiva’s response is completely unfair because he, and anyone with the ability to read, knows that neither she, nor anyone in the administration can comment on the issue. Instead, they have to quietly take it when idiots take potshots at them.

But…if they wanted to protect the minor to the best of their abilities, then they would have handled this thing differently in the first place. And call me a skeptic, but I think now their motives are more trying to protect themselves than the minor.

Not really, Guin. I mean, we’re talking messageboard admin here, not attorney or physician. There’s not some sort of sacred code that the admins sign onto. It’s a pretty informal profession.

Of course. Tuba messed up. Her, Ed, and most everyone else has said so. Repeatedly. But rather than accept an apology, an apology that had nothing to do with them, many posters in this thread feel the need to continually harp on her, call her a liar, and rake her over the coals, regardless of the fact that she is completely unable to respond to them. They’ve made it a policy to close down threads bashing posters who cannot defend themselves, but this one stays open, in my mind to appease those posters who haven’t had their fill of beating a dead horse.
Except that she has put her position as admin of this board on her resume, and asked us not to post TMI threads because of that. And the fact that we now PAY to post here. So she can’t have it both ways.
Hamlet, I don’t think it’s that we won’t accept an appology and still want to rake her over the coals. It’s that her appology came off as extremely self-serving-she didn’t so much regret what she had done because it was wrong, but because she had to deal with the consequences. And then the whole, “Well, it’s over and done, let’s not discuss it!” sounds like more bullshitting, sweep it under the rug. This was a serious breach, and the board admins aren’t taking it as such. She’s still in a position of authority, she still seems to insist that she had good intentions, and that she was vindicated. But some of us are seriously pissed about the way it has been dealt with, and the way they’re STILL running this board as they did when it was a private, free service. Sorry, things changed when we started ponying up to come here.
