Did you read the thread or just the post? Liberal gave a snarky comment. Tuba called him on it. He apologized without reservation. Then there was civil back and forth between two posters trying to explain their positions on the topic at hand. Then Tuba came back and told them to break it up and stop arguing. It was minor. It wasn’t even a warning. Doesn’t deserve a pitting except for whatever other history there is behind it. But it was wrong.

Respect and regret are not functions of one another. I regretted my actions because I knew that I ran afoul of that forum’s guidelines, even though it was Tuba who called it. If you believe it was wrong to apologize, please explain your reasoning.

Fair enough. I said that “the depth of Liberal’s “apology without reservation” in that thread” was “pretty clear” - that is, that it was not very deep at all. And that Liberal’s suggestions that I was saying that he was wrong to apologise or that various things were functions of each other were confusions - mistaken, deliberately introduced or crazy-arsed.

I have to disagree. I don’t agree with what Liberal says a lot of the time but I believe he is honest and says what he believes. But other than that I got nothing. I’ll leave you two to fight it out.

Since we’re being all tightly focused and everything on a single brief phrase — “apology without reservation” — to the exclusion of all else, it should be noted that I’m not the one who used it. As to the depth of my apology, I leave the measurement of that to you and J. Evans Pritchard, PhD.
