I’ve just found out that I’ll be spending tomorrow (Wednesday, August 13th) and Thursday in Tulsa. My known activities will be confined to the 7000-8000 blocks of S. Lewis during the day.
My company has previously put me up in digs with Internet access, but that’s not a given. And, I don’t know if my boss might ask me to dinner, in which case he holds the trump.
So, I might be hanging loose in Tulsa tomorrow night, and I might even be able to access the board.
Hey Beth, it’s just a last minute shot. I control very few of the parameters (all I can think of right now involve getting up in time for the red-eye).
If you can, there’s this place somewhere called 'Johnny’s and has some of the best sauce for a burger I’ve ever had. Or was that Johnnie’s? Nah, I’m pretty sure it was Johnny’s. Go there. It’s near the highway, carpeted with big wooden tables, and no plates. That’s one of the quirks of the place. But good burgers.
Has a sign outside in orange-brown-white script that advertises it on the side of the place. In this shopping centerish area. By the highway. A bunch of people in Oklahoma City should know where it is. I think in or near the far side of Oklahoma City from Houston, because it’s not too far from where my grandparents live and they live in that area; nearish to the new FBI center and kinda far it seems from the old one and it’s also near this big hospital complex and only a few minutes away from that Quail Springs mall. So if you can find the Quail Springs mall you should be close to Johnny’s. Ask some of them locals for it, they’ll tell you. Did you know Oklahoma City has some really good hospitals because so many of them are affiliated with the University of Oklahoma’s medical school? It’s true you know. Lessee sir, Johnny’s is real close to an intersection that the highway is part of; or rather, an intersection between the highway and some other road of some such, I assume a smaller road not on the highway although I believe Johnny’s is also near such an intersection. Third establishment from the right in that area. Or was it fourth? I’m pretty sure it was third, so I’ll go with that. Third one from the right; you might have to be careful when you get near there because if you’re not looking and you’re not sure what to look for you run a risk of missing it. I believe that on the other side of that intersection, down the road a little ways (if you’re right outside of Johnny’s looking away from it it’ll be to your left a while), there’s this little white building that’s also the lodge of the local chapter of Freemasons…
