Turducken Question

I know all about the turducken, but I’ve never seen a recipe for Deep Frying Turducken. I know that a turkey can be deep fried, but can a turducken be deep fried?

It shouldn’t be a problem. Last year, we did a boned turducken, which should deep fry quite well.

I dunno that I’d want to deep-fry a turducken. For one thing, it’s a big solid mass, so I’d be concerned about the outside getting overcooked before the inside is done. My other concern would be whether the stuffing would soak up fat from the fryer–the duck makes it greasy enough already.

Stuffed birds aren’t deep fried, are they?

Turducken is real? I thought it was just the flavor of yuppie dog food we give our Jack Russell. This really blows my mind.

Three birds? Only three?

I had never heard of the now-famous Turducken till reading of it here on this board and now we had one for New Years Eve dinner with family and friends. I had originally gotten the directions and recipe but after seeing the work involved (a lot of work it seemed), found a grocery store nearby that had one ready to go. A mere five hours in the stove and a feast for all.
This place is a constant fountain of information!
I thank you all!

I wouldn’t deep fry it for the two reasons already given.

TurDuckEn needs to be cooked slowly and thoroughly. The outside would be completely charred and the center would still probably be cold.

As well, the first layer of stuffing would soak up so much oil, it’d probably weigh a few pounds more when you took it out of the fryer.
