Is there any way to disable the auto-dimming “feature” for the Blackberry Curve? Mine likes to think it’s dark out when its really not. The screen dims when it’s light out and it’s hard to see, not all the time but enough of the time for it to get on my nerves. I’m thinking the cover on it has something to do with this.
Options > Screen/Keyboard > Automatically Dim Backlight: off
I have that set to off already, the screen still dims. How 'bout this, do you know where the sensor is?
The light sensor is next to the letter y on the front of the blackberry above the screen.
For what it matters, the point of the light sensor is to brighten the display in bright light and dim it in darkness. So covering the sensor will only dim your screen.
I totally get that, I have a hard case that apparently is blocking the eye so it thinks it’s always dark thus dimming the display, unless it’s in the direct light. Maybe a well placed 1/8" hole in the case is the answer. I may have to contact the manufacturer to find out why disabling it in the menu doesn’t work.
