Tut in Philly tomorrow- Where to eat and what else to do?

The wife and I are going to the Franklin Institute to see the King Tut exhibit (she’s very excited) and we’ll be driving home later in the evening. Any recommendations for a casual dinner? We’re up for just about anything (only we’ll be dressed pretty cas), so if you’ve got any “you’ve got to try this place” type suggestions, I’m all ears.

We’re about two hours away (in North Jersey) and we don’t get to Philly much. We heard about a great place for gelato called Capogiro, so we’re definitely going to check that out (we’re still optimistic that someday we’ll find gelato in the States comparable to what’s in Italy). We did the cheesesteak thing already, so please don’t suggest Pat’s or Geno’s

Check out eGullet and scroll down a few pages or search for discussions of visiting Philly… there are tons of good folks there to guide you…

Although I haven’t lived in Philly for 7 years, I always liked Bridget Foy’s on South Street http://www.bridgetfoys.com/home.aspx. They have french doors that open onto a porch so you can eat and watch the crowd go by.

Then you can walk around Head House Square and get cookies at Koffmeyer’s Cookies.

This site is a good place to check out very casual places to eat: http://www.hollyeats.com/Philadelphia.htm

Now I’m hungry.
