George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley) had a moustache on The Jeffersons. And All in the Family’s Michael Stivic was the first thing to pop into my head.
Also on Friends, Michael Perry had a beard for a little while, didn’t he?
Well, with the cancellation of tonight’s Emmy awards, we’ll see a lot fewer male TV stars with their beards…oh wait, not that kind of beard?
Continuing Star Trek beards: Avery Brooks wore a goatee on DS9; LeVar Burton wore a beard very briefly (maybe only one episode?) on TNG; Data wore a comic relief beard in one episode of TNG; and of course evil alt-Spock wore a goatee.
I don’t remember the actor’s name, but the guy who played the neighbor on Little House on the Prairie wore a full beard. So did Denver Pyle, aka Uncle Jesse on Dukes of Hazard (who also played the prospector on Grizzly Adams and who had a full beard there as well).
I just realized that many characters on ER have sported beards. Eriq La Salle, Noah Wylie, and Anthony Edwards all had goatees or beards at one time or another. La Salle’s character has been goateed from the beginning.
