When they first came on I was thrilled. But now TV Land & Boomerang are both starting to bore me.
Especially TV Land. How many times are they going to repeat the same Leave it to Beaver episode with the boat? There has to be hundreds of television shows from the 60’s and 70’s they could get their hands on. Whomever holds the rights to them, I’m sure they’d rather get a small amount of whatever money TV Land could pay to show them rather than have them just sit in some vault somewhere. TV Land needs to get some different shows in there.
Boomerang isn’t as bad. They are showing some variety. But they could do better. It’s supposed to be a classic cartoon network, and there are tons of cartoons from the 60’s & 70’s they haven’t shown. Once again, Whomever holds the rights to those old cartoons, I’m sure they’d rather get a small amount of whatever money Boomerang could pay to show them rather than have them just sit in some vault somewhere.
I’ve sent Emails to both networks and have gotten no replies.
Oh, I also forgot to mention: Retromercials. TV Land stopped showing old commercials from the 60’s & 70’s. They were great fun to watch. I’m bummed that they cut them out.
It’s true! It’s like they play the same 5 episodes of the Jetsons over and over, the same 5 Tom N Jerrys, etc. My 7 yo son hasn’t gotton tired of it yet, so it’s still on in our house, but it’s starting to lose it’s charm for me.
And seeing Boomerang is a classic cartoon channel (“it’s all coming back to you”) I think it was originally set up for baby boomers, not kids. I would think they would dig a little deeper for their material every now and then.
By the way, between our Digital Cable, and satellite system we have over 1400 channels (though some of those are in foreign languages I don’t understand). At one time or another they ALL need to get their act together and improve programming!
