‘Valdemar Universe’ Fantasy Book Series In The Works For TV – Deadline
Looks like they are starting with “The Last Herald-Mage” trilogy (I would have gone with “By The Sword” myself).
I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this universe. I also would have picked a different starting point. This trilogy is emotionally wrenching.
While I’d argue that most of the Valdemar stories are distressing…yeah, this one is brutal. I’ll allow it, if they do a incredible rendition of the Mage Wars. Personally, I’d start where Lackey started - Heralds of Valdemar. It would give a good introduction to the world where conventional magic isn’t the ultimate form of power.
That said, this is a series I’m definitely looking forward to, as well.
