TV show marathon you'd love to see?

The Gilmore Girls --I missed the first few seasons.

Monk I know they frequently have Monk Marathons on the USA channel, but
I missed season 1.

I guess I’m too cheap to buy the DVDs.

I’d like to see a marathon of what survives of news broadcasts from the 1950’s and 1960’s, across all three networks.

It’ll never happen, but it certainly would be interesting if it did.

Oh, forgot one! The Joy Of Painting, with Bob Ross. I loved to watch him make an amazing picture in 25 minutes with a dab here and a swipe there and a few scrapes of the pallet knife.

The Guiding Light - all 15,000 episodes. I’ve never seen the show so I need to catch up on what’s been happening. I’ll skip the first fifteen years’ worth of radio episodes though.

Mork and Mindy!

TWIN PEAKS …both seasons including the pilot episode. I can’t believe season 2 is still not available

Bravo used to do Twin Peaks marathons, and back in the “old” days of 15 years ago the Police Squad marathon on A&E was an almost monthly occurance.

Taxi is problematic. I don’t now what print Nick at Night uses, if they show it at all, but when Taxi was being broadcast on TNN (right before it changed to Spike) they sliced the hell out of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were four whole minutes of syndie cuts. All the pacing was off and whole scenes disappeared. It really kind of tarnished the memory of my youth until I got the DVD set this Christmas and realized the show does actually hold up, if you play the whole thing.

WKRP and Taxi, of course. I own Connections 1, 2 & 3 on tape, so all I really need is to Tivo a few episodes of The Day The Universe Changed, to fill the gaps in my collection. Like Sampiro, I’d like to see a marathon of “less-than-a-season” oddities, just for the weird factor.

But what I’d really love to see is a Firefly marathon. All 7 seasons!

That Was The Week That Was (the American version) – Really biting political satire and Tom Lehrer songs, what’s not to love.

The Games – Australian mockumentary about organizing (ha!) the Olympics. I have season 1 on DVD, no sign of season 2 ever being released.

Murder Most Horrid – British anthology series with lots of grizzly deaths in every episode. A comedy. Includes the funniest moment in the entire history of television. Starring Dawn French.

Cosmos – It’s been a while.

I don’t think it’s ever been syndicated, VHSed, or DVDed, but they have several episodes on tape that you can watch at the Museum of the Moving Image/Museum of TV in New York City. I watched a couple there several years ago.

Absolutely Fabulous

The Waltons

Hill Street Blue

Cop Rock (well it would be a mini-me mini marathon)

There was also a CD several years ago of collected moments from the series, cut together to sound like two episodes. I’ve been to the museum in New York, too, and watched the last episode, in which they just savaged NBC for cancelling them.

Saturday Night Live thinks it’s biting and satirical, and once upon a time it was, but even then it couldn’t hold a candle to TW3.

MAS*H.

Not a marathon, but a local station just started running ER from the pilot episode.

A run of short lived shows that didn’t make it and will never be shown in syndication.

I did that last year-- got the DVDs out of the library and watched them all. That music is creepy and cool.

I want a Xena: Warrior Princess marathon. I want to watch them all in order for once.

I’m havin’ a marathon tonight, my boys got me Gilligans Island The Complete First Season for christmas and I’ve been too busy at work to watch it. Guess they DO know me.

Hey fishbicycle, it wasn’t just the amazing pictures Bob made, it was his naration…“just let that limb go where it wants, let it meander like a happy little limb…now lets put in some clouds, just let them be free and find thier own space…” He was watching the effects of Valium on TV…I miss Bob :frowning:

Also, bring News Radiop back to A&E.

The Gilmore Girls is shown every day at 5 p.m. on ABC Family. I think they’re in the first season or so now.

**The Odd Couple

Space:1999

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

Invader Zim

Another vote for Twin Peaks. I missed it when it came out and haven’t been able to catch it yet.
