TV show scenes based on movie scenes?

I would wager that there are more people who know the original but don’t know the Lucy than the other way around.

I can only find one episode which features a retired detective and “Icepick” isn’t in it.

The Star Trek episode “Balance of Terror” takes an entire plotline from the movie The Enemy Below, including the zig zag chase between the hidden and visible ships, the honorable opponents who deeply respect each other, the first mate’s friendship, and the bluff that sets up the final battle.

Gah, I cringed when he said that. It was really forced and made no sense. I mean, I know it’s a lyric but IIRC, he said it very straight faced like it was a serious statement as to why he was late.

There have been numerous scenes on The Simpsons that have been based on movie scenes. I’m not going to list them all here. Some of them are mentioned here:

Also many of the segments on the Simpsons’ Tree House of Horror Halloween episodes have been parodies of various horror films.

You beat me to it, but I was coming into this thread to say “Isn’t this, like, 60% of Simpsons scenes?”
