TV shows and films not available on VHS or DVD

I’d like to see Get a Life, the Chris Elliott sitcom.

My long term memory has been tickling to watch the Courtship of Eddie’s Father with Bill Bixby. I can’t recall if it was actually good, or would hold up over time, but it was my favorite show as a little kid.

The Victors

1963 WWII movie I saw years ago and thought was pretty powerful. Apparently others did too. I’d like to see it again.

I would love to own a DVD of the 1975 TV Movie The Night That Panicked America.

It shows the nuts and bolts of putting on a live dramatic radio show (in this case Orson Welles “War of the Worlds” broadcast. That part was fascinating…at least to me.
From the quiet of the CBS studios it cuts to the mounting panic of a public that tuned in late. They even got it right that the show opposite Welles was the #1 Edgar Bergan-Charlie McCarthy show. 12 minutes into Bergan/McCarthy was the break for the Chase & Sanborn commercial. Apparently radio listeners do what TV viewers do today…punch around a see what else is going on.
12 minutes into “War of the Worlds” would have had the Martians landing in New Jersey.

A DVD of this movie is not available.

I want a best of Mr. Rogers featuring Picture-Picture. Those videos were interesting and informative.

“How toilets are made”

The detail and the gentle voiceover is the best thing ever, and it doesn’t really go out of date.

Has anyone mentioned “Blake’s 7”? I often see this show mentioned with affection, but I’ve never seen it.

The Maxx from MTV would make very happy.

Women. You can’t live with them, you can’t blow them up.

(Or something like that. It’s been a long, long time since I’ve seen it.)

Max Headroom

I have all of the episodes (but one, I think) that I taped when it was on. Man, I’ve got to find that box!

I converted my VHS version of the best of The State to DVD, just to re-watch Doug, and Barry and LeVon ($240 worth of pudding, OH YEAH!)

Purd Werfect thanks for reminding me of Doctor, Doctor – That was the funniest show ever, why Matt Frewer has not done more comedy stuff I will never know.

You Can’t Do That On Television gets my vote

Viva Variety would be another one.

I have an old commercially released VHS, but the quality’s degraded over ten years, and it seems like some episodes are missing.

Might get released to coincide with the movie.

Count another vote for S & O !

And how about Comedy Central’s Let’s Bowl ? Wally Hotvedt rules!

Is Alien Nation (TV series) available?

I own Alien Nation.

My top five list:

Cagney and Lacey
Chicago Hope
Lou Grant
Picket Fences
Trapper John, M.D.

The best source for news about T.V. shows that are (or are not) available is TV Shows on DVD.

RealTV

grrr

*The Rookies

I’ll Fly Away*

My World and Welcome to it. Thurber based comedy with William Windom.

Rebecca is available, but apparently out of print and costs a gazillion dollars. What’s up with that, anyway?
