Well, there’s always Firefly: The Next Generation. Only five more years until we match the time gap between TOS and TNG, after all. Oh. I made myself feel old, again.
I was actually just thinking that Vengeance Unlimited would be good for a revival, in my book. It seems like a pretty timeless formula, as these things go.
I thought I’d be original by saying Better Off Ted. Harrumph.
HBO’s Rome, though that one’s tricky. They knew the second season was to be the last so they crammed decades into that one season. Even with that, the second season was still very good and had a well-constructed ending. So maybe just leave it be.
Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. I enjoyed the first season, and the second season got legitimately good in parts.
I was probably only one of maybe five or six people who watched and liked the show, Journeyman, but I’d have liked to have seen where they could have taken the series.
Wonderfalls. I’d also like to say Dead Like Me just to complete the trio of Bryan Fuller “failures”, but the TV movie sequel was so unrelentingly awful I just can’t.
I don’t think anyone but me actually liked it but Happy Endings. I’ve rewatched the series probably 20 times. Nothing chases away a bad mood like Penny and Max.
Journeyman was the one with Moon Bloodgood and the redheaded guy getting displaced in the timestream, right? I think it just sort of stopped midway through.
If done right, I could see a spin-off series of “The Sopranos” where everyone is trying to fill the power vacuum left by Tony’s murder.
AJ decides that he wants to lead the family. No one thinks he can do it. Pauly Walnuts and Silvio use all of their influence to hold off a takeover to see how AJ does. It becomes obvious that he doesn’t have the talent his father did.
Meadow steps forward, and shows a knack for the business that no one suspected. However, due to the old stereotypes, Pauly and Silvio realize that no one would ever take her seriously in that role, so AJ stays as a figurehead and Meadow is the power behind the throne.
Rome: only finished watching this a few days ago, and would have loved to see another series.
Constantine: definitely better then the increasingly tiresome Arrowverse foursome and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD/Agent Carter, but consider the Netflix series to be superior. YMMV and all that.
OZ: i enjoyed it initially, but it did get increasingly ridiculous (remember those aging pills?) in later seasons. This is more like a series that went on for longer then it should, rather than one that was prematurely culled.
Limitless and Almost Human were fun series that were canned after just one season. Neither would be remembered as a “The Sopranos” or “Breaking Bad” but more enjoyable then many other series.
