TV shows you'd like to see revived

Any TV shows that you would like to see revived, or even hope that they will be?

I believe many fans still wish for HBO’s “Oz” to be revived. I am not sure about that, but it would be interesting if they would do a “sequel”/spin-off in a women’s prison (maximum security one, with an one-hour episode format, no light(er) stuff like “Orange is the New Black”).
I was pretty disappointed with “Medium” series finale and wished that it was re-made. Not so much due to Joe dying, but due to other characters barely being included, and a lack of closure in regards to them.

“Prison Break” mini-series will actually be released in 2017, but not all the fans seem to be happy with that.

Any other suggestions?

All pretty meh stuff, IMO. I guess every show has fans sorry to see it end, especially prematurely, but in the end… they’re just TV shows. If you’re going to ask for exceptional effort to bring it back, it should have exceptional qualities.

Terriers still gets the occasional honorable mention around here. It seems it would be quite suited for a Netflix/Amazon/Hulu series. The bonus for them is that if they shoot 13 new episodes, there’s an additional 13 old episodes to pad out a binge watch.

You’d need Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James, of course. But both seem to fairly busy. The rest of the regulars are still working but apparently not all that tied up in other series.

My Name is Earl

Constantine. While not perfect, better than any of the other superhero shows on. And the lead was dead-on perfect.

The theory goes, you shouldn’t remake great shows, that’s just silly. Instead you should remake flawed shows that had a good premise. But this time you avoid the flaws of the original show and explore the premise better.

I always thought The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman could make decent modern shows. I know they remade it already and the remake was horrible. But my remake would be good.

Explore the premise better. These are people who’ve been ripped apart, and then given bionic replacements. Except the bionics have obvious drawbacks. There’s constant pain from surgery. Government bureaucrats breathing down your neck. Secret missions. Cost over-runs.

The original bionic parts were just black box magic technology. Except in 2016 we’re on the verge of really creating that technology. So treat it realistically.

A Star Trek style Love Boat!

I wish 24 would come back again. I really don’t want Jack to be left rotting in a Russian prison.

I know there’s been some talk of a reboot that I haven’t paid much attention to, but that’s not what I want. Reboot shmeeboot.

“The weak and the cowardly have no place in shuffleboard.”

Best. SNL. Sketch. Ever.

I felt pretty gypped (heh ;)) when The Riches didn’t survive the writer’s guild strike.

I’m the first to mention* Firefly*? Really?

Do you think it’d be any good? Most of the cast has moved on, and would Joss come back from movies to write it?

And ever since they did the most trite thing in the business by killing off the only happily married couple, I am no longer such a fan.

I assume it would be good if it happened. I don’t think it would happen, though. But a guy can dream.

Brimstone.

Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers, but with good writers and directors this time.

Police Squad.

Carnivale and Deadwood. Both gone too soon.

I would check out ‘Angie Tribeca’ if you haven’t already.

Pushing Daisies and Better Off Ted

Were I in a position to make that happen, I’d be proud to get ‘Firefly: Passing the Torch’ off the ground. (I just thought of that goofy subtitle. Joss can have it if he cares.)

Ooh!* Better Off Ted*! I could see a conceptual revival that’s clearly set in the same corporation (or a child of it, or the conglomerate that bought them out), but steadfastly ignores the existence of the previous series. A bit like when Cupid came back different, but implicitly reflecting corporate politics and turnover.
