Sometimes when watching TV shows, the sound will suddenly drop out. The vocals will disappear, and the sound effects won’t effect.
It often happens during jarring scenes, particularly Star Trek battles. I’ve noticed this effect on numerous shows on numerous channels and on numerous TVs, so I don’t think it’s limited to my TV, Star Trek, or UPN.
Anybody know what’s up, and if there’s a way to prevent it?
Some TV’s(like the RCA in my living room) have a built in sound equalizer. If the sound coming out of the TV jumps in volume suddenly(without you doing it that is) it’ll automatically mute it until the sound returns to normal. Try unplugging the cable and see if it does it when the snow sound comes on. If it does, then its the TV doing it.
I always get sound drops on Leno’s monologue.
At first I thought it was just his inattention to volume, but then realized they had plenty of post-taping time to fix anything like that, so I assumed it was in the transmitter (I use a shared aerial)
