TV's Night of Evenings - Best Logies Ever! Note - SPOILER For Non-Aussies!!

The spoiler warning is for all the Americans and Europeans who probably will get to see a delayed broadcast. I’d hate to ruin the surprise of Georgie’s win of the Gold Logie for them all!

High-lights for me?

Micalleff - nice low-key but still off-the-wall approach. Sure, lots of jokes fell flat, but just because nobody laughed doesn’t mean it wasn’t funny. Think about that tree in the forest…

Ada - never seen her before but what a beautiful young woman! And I assume she plays a greek character who isn’t a joke. Now there’s a break-through!

Bert - I think he was genuinely touched by the reception he got. And he can still ad-lib with aplomb!

Ricky Martin - High-energy music with a controlled, relaxed performer up-front. And he is god-like in appearance.

Low-points? Michael Crawford. Does the man have a sincere bone in his body?

What does everyone else think?

PS Oh, and if any non-aussies have wandered in by mistake, don’t worry about the feeling of utter incomprehension at hearing events discussed that you have no knowledge of. We non-Americans got used to that feeling years ago. It’s not that bad.

oops, forgot to add Ruth Cracknell -like her as an actress but found her pretentious last night.

I skipped the Logies as per usual. But who won? Sigrid Thornton or Lisa McCune?

I have no idea why I am asking this

and FWIW I found Cracknell’s autobiography pretty damned pretentious. The first one anyway. haven’t read the the Death in Venice.

I skipped it too, but I’m fairly sure that neither of them won. Georgie Parker did. I don’t think Sigrid Thornton even got the Silver Logie. :frowning:

“Aaaaaaaaah yes, thank you H.G.”

Thanks men and women of Australia!

Not much of a thread, I know, but I was just longing to post something AUSTRALIAN so that for a change the cultural confusion wouldn’t be one-way. I am sure there a few baffled yanks out there now, wondering what a logie is, and who Bert might be. hehehe

Redboss, maybe its time for a Sydney vs Melbourne thread

yeah and we Brisbanites can sit on the sidelines and just know we win overall

Ooh…I get to be the CrazyAmerican with a dog in that race!

jayjay (who knows Melbourne’s the best 'cause his boyfriend lives there)
