I love Ricky Gervais, but I feel awkward when the ‘talent’ doesn’t respond, (or responds negatively), to his comments. I’m surprised they asked him to come back.
I’m pissed **Parks and Recreation **and Community got snubbed. Nick Offerman, (**Parks and Rec’s **Ron Swanson), needs to be recognized! Does anyone else have complaints on the nominees? Is anyone else watching just to see Gervais say something that will be in the news tomorrow?
To paraphrase Ricky Gervais on a recent interview (Ellen Show?), “This is not an audience of wounded war veterans, this is one of the most wealthy, privileged groups of people on earth - of course I am going to make fun of them!”
I thought he was great last year, and looking forward to his comments this year.
As far as the awards, looking over the list I am finding I have only seen about half the films at best, and like only about half the TV shows nominated (others I have never seen).
So, for me it will just be fun to see the interaction of Ricky and his squirming audience, plus the half-crocked celebrities snapping up their Globes.
We are ordering pizza and plan to make a nice late afternoon/early evening (starts at 4:00 PM on the left coast). Looking forward to it!
Actually, Ricky could be Tweeting up a storm for all I know, since the GGs seem to have crippled Twitter altogether. I can’t post at all and only get about ten posts before an error message appears. I fear the fail whale is swimming towards shore…
Say what you want about Christopher Plummer, at least the guy had a rambling speech prepared. Everybody else is so flustered, even Madonna. I mean, you’re Madonna!
They’re not filtering out everybody talking over the speeches very well this year.
At least I’m recording Downton Abbey, just in case there’s another Seth Rogen-quality joke, LOL.
(Haven’t seen Game of Thrones) He plays a dwarvish type? I thought he once swore he’d never play a role that was specifically written as a little person. OTOH, the guy’s gotta work and there are other guys of non-standard height who will grab it.
