The Golden Globes Watchalong thread. Anyone interested?

Besides me? It’s weird, I’m sitting in Chicago with no TV, but I’m watching it via a television in Kansas City thanks to a wonderful technology called a SlingPlayer. I love technology!

The Red Carpet is happening now. They just talked to Angelina Jolie and are talking to Colin Firth as I type. Kevin Spacey now. He was great in Casino Jack and his nomination is very deserved. I’ll post the movie nominees/results but I know nothing about the TV nominees.

So, anyone else out there at their computer watching?

Michael Douglas looks FANTASTIC!!

Yeah, it’s nice to see that he’s doing well. Catherine Zeta-Jones is as gorgeous as ever.

Ricky always has beer when he is on stage. Love it.

Ouch! Gervais is out to offend tonight.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE

Winner: Christian Bale - The Fighter
Michael Douglas - Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Andrew Garfield - The Social Network
Jeremy Renner - The Town
Geoffrey Rush - The King’s Speech

I’m a bit behind because of the SlingPlayer delay, and I’m doing links for the movie nominees. I already have their names and categories, which I don’t have for the TV nominees.

Katy Segal just won something.

Carlos won mini-series, which is interesting in that it’s also a theatrical release and is winning several critics awards as a film.

I missed it when it played Chicago. sad

Thanks Twickster.

Gervais is being a dick tonight. I like him, but damn.

Nice speech from Chris Colfer. Glad he won.

He was a dick last time too. I love it.

Yeah, I’m glad for Colfer, too.

Milla is so beautiful tonight, lovely dress. I love her, she’s such a nice person.

I didn’t know until last night that Mila Kunis pronounced her first name same as Milla Jovovich. Mee-lah.

Edit that Steve Buscemi wins for Boardwalk Empire.

WTF is with the nominees for Best Comedy/Musical? Red, The Tourist, Alice in Wonderland and Burlesque!? Just give the award to The Kids Are Alright already.

How is *Alice *a comedy?

I really like Steve Buscemi but I have not watched Boardwalk Empire. I am a huge fan of Dexter and I love Hugh Laurie, but I think Steve is super talented so I can’t be disappointed here. Loved his “sad music” line too, sounds like everyone’s been played off so far.

Except for Christian Bale who seemed to talk forever. Maybe they’re afraid of getting on his bad side.

Crap I’d be afraid.

Poor Andrew Garfield just totally flubbed EVERYTHING he just said. But during the Social Network I could not stop staring at how damn pretty he was! And I watched it with my boyfriend so I had to gush silently hah.

BEST SONG

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE

The King’s Speech - Alexandre Desplat

Trent Reznor has a Golden Globe! Very surreal. On to the Oscars!
