Twickster, re: your note

In this thread, you provided this “note”:

So, for the record: When I do, I will.

In the meantime, I believe you have entirely misunderstood my post. Perhaps this is my fault, so here is a re-phrase:

“Although you posted this in MPSIMS rather than in Great Debates, and therefore one may assume that you are not intending a serious debate, nevertheless I surmise from what I know of your posting history that you are in some sense still trying to make a serious point; this is also supported by the fact that you said in the OP that these examples are “true”. It is my opinion that this level of example does not do a very good job of supporting your case.”

I hope that makes it clear that I in no way had a problem with the poster. I was defending myself from the accusation of being a wet blanket (which elicited no comment from you) for challenging the content of the OP and the conclusions derived from it.

It strikes me that, if I were off base anywhere in that thread, it was in taking it seriously in the first place. In which case, you should have made a “note” against my first post and told me that we’re not allowed to be serious in MPSIMS.
Roddy

You’re splitting hairs.

It’s pretty obvious that you were making a personal statement against Jamie there (and I should know, I’ve been warned for making them against him too!). A mod note doesn’t mean a whole lot, nor do actual warnings, as long as you’re not a habitual offender.

  1. It was just a note, not a warning.

  2. I read your comment as being about your opinion of Ambivalid as a poster and what you see as his pattern of posting in general, both of which would be something you should take to the Pit. If you wanted to debate the issues with him, that would go in GD. Your comment, as I read it, was about him, and thus out of place in MPSIMS, rather than about the video.

  3. I don’t see “wet blanket” as being a personal attack that requires a mod note. I can reconsider this if you felt personally attacked by it.

Hope this serves to address the issues you have raised.
