Twilight Zone-a-thon!

That is one of my favorite episodes. Some trivia about it: the daughter of the woman who played the Ballerina in this episode grew up to be the infamous winner of the show “Who Wants to Marry a Multi Millionaire?”

The main character. The guy who was lost, gets taken in, and then let’s Satan out.

Mine, too. I’ve always assumed that the title was inspired by an earlier title Six Characters in Search of an Author, although the story seems to be more like “A writer with writer’s block in search of a script.” Serling would actually use that theme in a later work “Midnight Never Ends” in the “Night Gallery” series. He himself admitted that after having written so many stories that it was hard to stop cribbing things from earlier stories.

And gets taken in in more ways than one…

I’m surprised he didn’t change it the first day of elementary school…

Kinda casts the whole “staff of truth” thing in a different light…

He ends up marrying her. I always thought was weird even when I was tween and first saw it. (12ish I think at the time). It was just so weird that she was a child and he was an adult when they met. That and I believe the aunt didn’t want them paling around. I know that wasn’t the intent, but that episode and the one with the pool just makes me feel uncomfortable.

Yeah, I guess that probably wouldn’t fly today. I remember thinking it was sort of cool when I first saw it but in today’s Chris Hansen fueled environment, maybe not. I still find Bewitching Pool and I Sing the Body Electric the two most unintentionally creepy.

I just thought of another one whose creepy factor was enhanced by being on video:

I think it was called “Room for One More” or at least that was the catch phrase. A young actress or maybe showgirl is in a hospital suffering from exhaustion. She keeps having a dream that a nurse comes in her room at night and she follows her down to the basement where the morgue is. The nurse, who is wonderfully cold and scary says, menacingly, “Room for one more, honey”.

I won’t give the ending away only because this one seems to be shown so rarely that there might be people who haven’t seen it. Definitely on of my favorites.

Also have to give a shout out to the one where the greedy family has to wear masks on Mardi Gras.

Good one, WOOKINPANUB. I think it was actually called “Twenty-Two” but the catch phrase is indeed “Room for one more.”

It came on late Mon night/early Tues morn. Did you catch it?

I remember seeing the Robert Duvall episode about 25 years ago when colorizing old black and white shows was the rage. They partially colorized this so the scenes in the dollhouse were color and real life was B&W. About the only time this misguided experiment actually worked. Actually if you see a lot of early 1960s TV, Robert Duvall shows up a lot.Which is fine with me.

No, darn it. I almost never do and I watch as much of every marathon as I can.( The only thing I enjoy more than the TZ marathons is discussing them :))

And, no offense to fans, but “The Howling Man” is one that I usually skip.

Who else can name one that they saw for the first time this time around? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them all but this year was only the second time I’ve seen the one were the airman with amnesia finds himself in a deserted town and we find out

the whole thing is a military experiment in which he has been isolated in a tiny box for several weeks.

I vaguely recalled it but couldn’t remember the ending so it was a treat.

I think that’s Where is Everybody? It was the first ever aired episode.

ETA: If you missed it, you can catch it instantly on Netflix. They have all of them but the hour long season four ones.

Yes! He does look mulatto or mixed with African and Caucasian. He looks especially browner next to the other Caucasian cast. Actually, there are several mixed African Americans in Twilight zone episodes that passed for Caucasian. There’s actually an almost all African American cast in season1 ep27, the Big Tall Wish. I’m glad someone else noticed this but me…many years later but noticed.
