Well, it’s exceptionally early, but just to put it out there: the Briston family will be spending a couple of weeks on the road this summer, with several days being spent at my brother’s place in Maple Grove. Hopefully folks will be up for a Doper Dinner on or about July 11th as well…
**Fetchund **and I might just make it. We’ll have to discuss. The 21st is probably fine and India Palace is also fine. It’d be kind of nice to meet some of you folk.
I might be able to make it…not sure yet. I have food allergies and can’t eat in restaurants, but could just get something to drink and hang out and chat.
I’ll be asking the boss lady. India Palace sounds like a grand idea. It’s even in Diogenes country. If eluicidator needs a lift, I’ll volunteer. Sometimes I need to be called Butch to reaffirm my masculinity.
Thanks for the invite fisha, looks like an awesome get-together and should be fun. I’ve got it penciled in and will try to make arrangements!
Live in the Milwaukee area but used to drive up to the TC’s twice a month, it aint that bad a ride.
I have an agility trial that weekend - it will depend on what time we get done up in Isanti. (For those of you in the area that crave Indian Food - Taste of India in Saint Louis Pk is better!)
I’m getting a little cabin fever, I will try to make it to this.
Any suggestions for a decent nearby hotel to stay over Saturday night? Last time I went to a Chi-dope, the hotel I booked was so horrible I just got in my car and drove home after dinner.
I was thinking of PM’ing cheeseheads, and your name was on the list, but I wasn’t sure how far you guys would be willing to drive. It’d be great to have you come.
I’d offer up the house, but I’m pretty sure you don’t want to stay with 5 kids, a Great Dane and a husband who’s wondering why we’re having some strange guy off the internet sleep over at the house…
There are several hotels nearby. I know there’s a Fairfield Inn up the street and a Days Inn near (got bad reviews from a friend). There’s a Radisson right there. There’s one across the freeway (nice, MIL stayed there once), but I can’t remember the name. If you look up hotels in Roseville, most of them are close to the restaurant. You can go for any place that’s near the junction of I-35W and Hwy 36.
fisha, did you notify imthjackaz (SP?) and his kid? They were fun to have at the last get together, and the kid has incredible taste in food. (Well, he liked everything I liked)
We’d love to be able to attend but unfortunately a trip to the Twin Cities just isn’t in the cards for us at the moment. We do try to get that way several times a year, though. Next time I’ll try to remember to make a note of it here in case anyone wants to meet up (if my husband doesn’t think it’s too weird … though he once dragged me to Rochester to buy aquarium stuff from some guy he met online so I think he owes me).
