Much as I like steak and much as I like ice cream, I’d never consider steak a la mode.
What are you talking about? Haven’t you ever had potato salad? These are its two main ingredients and made with the right amount of scallions (spring onions) and herbs it is one of the most delicious things ever at a barbecue.
I thought of another one:
Onion Pavlova drizzled with balsamic vinegar
There’s a character in one of my kids’ favorite books who likes a special treat of sausages sliced into vanilla rice pudding.
He’s a Scottish terrier, however.
Sorry… but many of the combos you’re posting I like (as long as I like both parts of the combo individually).
Personally, I don’t like pasta and mayonaise… but many people do. I don’t know why I don’t like it… unless it was my mother’s macaroni salad, which I hated.
The Lou Reed contribution: Bacon and Ice Cream
Howzaboutta Mayonnaise Soda widdat?
Or cheese soup with beer in it–yum!
And I thought pineapple on pizza sounded absolutely disgusting–until I tried it. It’s actually pretty good.
Inspired by “Blue Collar Television” last night… It’s not particularly gross or nauseating like a foie gras milkshake, but it’s just plain wrong:
Brown gravy on cheesecake.
Rocky Road ice cream and Bologna
Vanilla pudding and meatballs
Courtesy of my early morning fog at the office today: Coffee, whitened with soy milk and sweetened with salt.

I never spat anything out quite so fast. I suppose that if I had used the sugar instead of the salt, the soy milk would have been an acceptable subsitute for cream. The triple-play, however, ought to be passed over whenever possible.
Apple sauce with a glass of milk.
