Two girls, a guy, and a Topeka place

Last night was the miniest mini dopefest ya ever did see. And now you can see!
http://communities.msn.com/Endersplaypen/miniminiminiminidopefest.msnw?Page=1
It was myself, Auntie em, and Baker.
Auntie em is a spectacular host and we need more Kansan dopers because she knows how to throw a party.
Baker lived up to her name with a homemade chocolate pecan pie that was richer than Bill Gates and twice as big.
Me? I was just the dumb schmuck with the camera. Enjoy.

If only the camera didn’t add so much weight! I’m not really that big, ast least not in my mind(what there is of it!) You should have seen the size of the burgers auntie em had made up. Seasoned with basil and garlic no less. AndEnder did the guy’s job, he cooked them. BTW, the pictures are great!

Great pix… but I think me and hersiarch got you guys beat for the smallest dopefest!

We went together to see Roger Waters in Seoul a month or so ago… great fun was had by all! Except I got busted with a beer, and hersiarch WASN’T!! Where’s the justice in that?

They took my beer away… :frowning:

BTW: how’s the Korean um-shik, Baker?

I may not have succeeded in appearing un-stoned (I don’t even smoke pot, I swear–yet every time someone takes a picture of me…), but I DID succeed in solving the “mystery” in the last pic (and um… eww… throwing it away this morning)!

Ender is the king of grilling, photography, and experimentation with the meat thermometer!

And I’m eating chocolate pecan pie for breakfast. Me like Baker!

A dopefest near me and I missed it! :frowning: Serves me right for actually working instead of reading the boards I guess. I won’t let that happen again!

Maybe one of these days we can have a foursome… er, uh, I mean the four of us can get together. Yeah, that’s it. cough

Actually, Kiki, it wasn’t advertised on the boards. (Yeah, we Northern Kansas Dopers… we’re a very exclusive club… :stuck_out_tongue: ) I happened to catch Ender’s roadtrip thread, offered to let him borrow a book (hole-in-the-wall restaurant guide) for the trip, and we made arrangements via email. Since I’d already met Baker (who lives around here), and she and I had been trying to hook up to grill things, I suggested a threesome.

The more the merrier, however, so next time you’re on the guest list!

Where y’at in Kansas?

That was very entertaining and your captions were hilarious. Funny stuff!

Did anyone remember to feed the dog?

Ender, honey, what were these ladies thinking letting you handle food and fire ?

First of all, I just noticed I said “last night” when I really meant “tonight.” Weird. Though NOW it’s last night.

Astroboy14 ya always gotta one up me eh? Well one up yours! [sub]ok, fine, technically yours was a one down…[/sub]

Kiki, you are so invited to the next shindig. We need to start building a clique so we can have some sort of turf warfare with, ya know, St. Louis or something. The Show-Me Smackdown, 2002.

lieu, thanks. There are other albums on there as well. Porkdope for sure and Chidope is hiding somewhere.

superbee those dogs ate better than we did. Hamburgers, cheese, crackers, our crotches. OK, they just sniffed the last one, but I saw the hunger in their eyes.

Jessica2, I think they plead temporary insanity. But damn those burgers were tasty.

I was born and raised in Manhattan. Go Wildcats! (Sorry Enderw24… you’re probably a KU fan, huh?) [sub]boo hiss[/sub] I’m not too far away from y’all.

So if we’re gonna have a turf warfare, what’s our gang name gonna be? The Kick-Yo-Ass Kansans? The Wheat Field Warriors?

I vote for the Dustbowl Disasters.

Hey, BTW, Ender… what happened to “Feedin’ meat to the bitches” as a thread title?

Okay, **auntie em. ** You said you had solved the “mystery” of what the dog brought back. What in the heck was it? All I remember was that it was smelly!

Well, I’m afraid it’s not a very exciting story, Baker. I let the dogs out this morning, and then left them out there while I went to pee and brush my teeth (it’s our usual routine).

I forgot about the Mystery Dead Thing[sup]TM[/sup], however, and was horrified to find that CornPone had retrieved it from the neighbor’s yard, brought it into MY yard, and started chowing down on it while I was busy polishing my pearly whites.

I freaked out and made both dogs come inside.

After awhile, I started to worry that CornPone might not have actually eliminated anything when she went out, given the “distraction” and all, so I let them back out, and watched to make sure nobody went near the damn thing.

They both kept trying, though, and weren’t even interested in peeing or pooping, so I called them back in and did what I had been trying to figure out how to avoid…

I went out there to pick the damn thing up and toss it into the garbage.

It was a squirrel (but by now it was so mangled that only the fuzzy tail told me for sure).

I wore yellow rubber gloves, and covered it with a Hefty bag, which I used to pick it up. I ran, holding my breath, to my dumpster and tossed it in.

Then I let the dogs back out.

Turned out I had missed one little chunk of squirrel, because CornPone ran immediately back to the crime scene, sucked something up, and began chewing with gleeful abandon.

I yelled at her to “Drop It!”

She swallowed it. :frowning:

Hi!

Well, dammit, shanny, where you been hiding?

They all come out of lurkdome.
See auntie em? Muuuuuuuch better title than “hungry women and my huge bulge of meat.”
