There is historical precedent, of course: a small number of spanish invaders were able to conquor or dominate populous south american civilzations, temporaily at least.
Yeah, but who do you think these two would have been? The Spaniards, or the South Americans?
He probably lost interest when he found out “rappelling” didn’t mean what he thought it did.
yep
True, they don’t seem to come across as master strategists or leaders…. ![]()
In an entirely different era, with the aid of apocalyptic levels of disease. It’s a lot easier to defeat massively superior numbers when most of them drop dead first.
Is there a disease that you’re supposing these two Lone Star MENSA gentlemen are not carrying??
None that the locals haven’t been exposed to.
Not to mention a notable superiority in weaponry, and the existence of some form of military discipline for those using it. Very useful for first contact situations, before the germs have time to work.

A small number of conquistadors plus a massive army of local natives who wanted to rebel against the Aztecs.
The conquistadors exploited local divisions and used native allies in their conquests, but we just drop their numbers from many of the battles involved.
Sort of like how the famous 300 Spartans had 7,000 allies from other Greek city states.

No doubt a factor. Hey, these guys have some useful military stuff; let’s hire them as mercenaries…
Not usually a good idea. ![]()
They planned to do this on Haiti?? How were they going to handle all the zombies?

AIUI the native civilizations had armies and strategy and discipline, but metal weapons such as swords, knives, and of course muskets, made the local military no match. And diseases spread much faster than you may think. As mentioned, the Spaniards made alliances with foes of the Aztec and the Inca - this takes time, and smallpox is so virulent it spread to distant locations faster. I read many towns and villages were decimated or even wiped-out before anyone there ever heard of or saw a European.
For a second I thought the OP was talking about these two guys, and figured that I really misremembered the plot of that movie.
It was more like this movie, in their heads, anyways.
But in this case it’s The Men of Would-be Kinks.
Lola for president!!

These dickheads may be morally comparable to conquistadors but practically two wannabe rapists is not really comparable to a couple of thousand troops equipped by the most effective military of its day.
IMO this was a self-correcting problem that should have been left alone.
I understand the sentiment, but I don’t think Haïti needs any more bloodshed. And there’s no way to tell how the Andrew Tate / Charlie Kirk crowd would have reacted if these idiots had been killed “by an angry mob” in Haïti, and how high it would have escalated in Washington.
