Two people, one name

Two people use this handle. One uses it twice as much as the other. Do a lot of people share names or should we get separate ones?

You guys should definitely have your own individual names. It’ll help the members keep straight who is speaking and, Darwin forbid, if one of the users of that name gets booted, both of you won’t get kicked out. You’ll need individual e-mail addresses, too. The software will only allow one screen name per address, if I’m not mistaken.

All you need to do is go to the main message board page, click the “logout” doodad at the bottom and then the person using the name less can register a new one. Please keep in mind, you’ll need to go through a logout-login cycle every time the other wants to post then.

I noticed yesterday that someone started posting under the name kiz. I hope that people don’t mix us up and he gets a bad name because of it.

Just tomndebb, AFIK.

OK, I’ll take the mod’s advice

The double name notwithstanding, Tom is on record as stating that Debb has never posted to this message board using that name. We believe him. And we’d love to have Debb as a poster, under a different handle of course.

So how about it, Debb? Come out, come out, wherever you are!

Mmmmmm, Little Debbies …

Actually, I believe it’s Deb B., not Debb.

I think Crick&Watson used one name between the two of them, but always signed as either Crick or Watson. Also, that was a long time ago.

I presume the “banned” under gorewonfla’s name refers to this, and that the two parties involved are coming back (with the mods’ blessing) under separate names? Or did I miss a meltdown somewhere?

I just saw this thread . . . AFTER I had suspected the worst and hit the button.

Lemme go fix.

For the record, it’s ONE screen name for EACH user. No more, no less. Please.

Quite embarrassed now.

I’ve always worried about giving Needs2know a bad name, too, kniz. I try to stay on my best behavior even though I’m pretty sure most folks know the difference.

I’m trying not to smirk…really, I’m trying…

I’ve been waiting for some schmuck calling himself Mister X to show up so I can blame everything on him.

I humbly suggest that Deb B use the moniker debbntom. It just seems the thing to do…

Hmm…, I’ve got a thing about Debbies. OK, Tom, out with her!

Oh.

I thought this was another Jill Gatt/Magruder/Gatt thread.
But Jill’s not two people with one name, she’s one people with two names.

She’d like to be known by one name - Magruder I think. No, it was Gatt. Hang on…

So what about people with multiple personalities–one name or two (or more)? How 'bout conjoined (however you spell it–you know, Siamese) twins if one of 'em doesn’t have access to an arm? Does the Administration have contingency plans for these things?

I’d say multiple personalities should only be allowed separate usernames if the additional personalities actually manifest a separate body when active.

This is a simple question, MysterEcks. In fact, the answer is identical to the answer to “How many tax returns must you file?”

My God, you mean tax preparers get multiple usernames?!?

(It’s a holiday weekend, my father had minor heart surgery (angioplasty (sp?) and stent) this morning, and I’ve had one (1) hour of sleep in the past two days. Normal just ain’t on my agenda today.)

Hope your father is doing OK, MysterEcks.
