1)How can I get it to open links on Firefox instead of IE. I checked the default settings and I think I found the spot to change it, but Firefox wasn’t listed as an option and I didn’t see a way to add it (Running Vista).
2)I seem to be having problems with attachments. When I try to send a larger file (I know that attachments as small as 1.1mb are doing it) it tries to send it and then I get this error
The people that host my email say I have a 10mb limit on attachments and I know if I use their web interface I don’t have any problems.
BTW I’m running Thunderbird 3.0.5…which I don’t like.
It should open links in Firefox provided Firefox is set as your default browser. This is not something you set in Firebird, you set it in Firefox itself, on the General tab of the Options box. Tell it that it should check to see if it is the default browser, then tell it that it can be. With Firefox as my default (and presumably you want it as your default too, or why would you want Thunderbird to use it?), THunderbird always opens its links in Firefox for me (although I am running on XP, so it may not be exactly the same).
You will probably also want to stop IE begging to be your default every time you run it, but IIRC that is just a matter of unchecking a checkbox on the nag screen, the first time you see it.
As for your other problem, if it is not the mail server or your upload speed (could it just be too slow in getting all the data to the server?) then I have no idea. I have never seen any evidence, or heard of any reason why, Thunderbird itself would care how big your attachments are.
Got firefox to open as the default browser. I’m still not sure about the attachments. I have one guess though. A few days ago we replaced our router and modem with a Router/Modem all in one deal. Since then I’ve had a problem with websites not always loading the first time, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.
No idea.
