There really are differences between boys and girls. Yes, if the women teachers in this instance chose the wrong boy, they could have damaged him, but this boy ain’t it. He’s doing just fine, if not better than fine. If he got an STD or had to pay child support that would be bad. The thing is, 16 year old boys that get lucky with hot teachers really, really, really want that to happen. If he is bragging about it, that is a good indication he is doing just fine. When I was very young, I knew other students were having sex with each other as early as 13 years old. I know because the young lady bragged about it to me and was hoping she was pregnant. She is still quite the looker at the 30th reunion.

I lack the psychological expertise and wisdom to know all the possible harm (or good) something like this could do to a kid. I suspect you do too. To someone with a warped view of sexuality, a warped view of sexuality looks normal. I’m not accusing you or anyone else of having a warped view of sexuality, just asking how you would know it isn’t.

I saw this and also immediately thought about the issues you guys are bringing up. And what I discovered surprised me. Yes, I did think to myself that the kid probably enjoyed himself, but then realized I wouldn’t think so if the genders were reversed.
Yet that didn’t agree with what happened to me in school. We had a female teacher who flirted with some of her male students, and I remember being really skeeved out by that. And she was just flirtatious–I’m pretty sure it never went any further. So what happened here?
Then it hit me. I by default assume the men would be unattractive. And then I realized that, if the women were unattractive (or just old looking, like the teacher I mentioned above), I would feel the same way. So my double standard seems to be based on attractiveness, not gender.
But then I thought about that even more. Why do I feel that way? Is it just me giving attractive people a pass? I don’t do that in other situations, so probably not. So there has to be a reason. And I think it’s because the attractiveness changes my idea of whether or not the teachers are being predatory. I guess I assume that, if the teachers are attractive, they didn’t have to do anything to manipulate the student.
Because, to me, with post-pubescents, that’s the issue. It’s about manipulation and power. Was the student taken advantage of? Will he as an adult look back and feel like he was pressured into the situation?
“Idiot” would not describe this student, in fact it would be more apt label for the teachers involved. Like anyone doing anything illegal, they mistakenly thought that they would not be caught despite similar cases and the ending, thinking “I’m different than those other teachers”.
Plus they also allowed the threesome sessions to be videotaped, essentially giving the case a solid evidence.
These sexy ladies basically threw away their careers, the younger one is 24 and only in her second year of teaching. Tragic.
Looking at past cases, the students not only brag to peers, but often they easily confess when discovered by their parents, and willing talk to police and school administrators. This has always surprised me with these cases, how many of these male students provided detailed accounts of the incidents, in turn helping the case against these teachers.

Excellent points, I also noticed in these articles’ comment sections the difference in reactions people have based on the teacher’s perceived attractiveness.
When the teacher is very old or homely, some of the comments are not so congratulatory towards the student, such as “damn these teens are very desperate”. But when the teacher is hot such as these two, “dude should get a medal”, type comments prevail.

I was a horny teenager too. I, like most the girls in school, had a crush on the French teacher’s college age son. If we had somehow had sex, it would have been a bragging point, sure.
As it turns out in pretty emotionally healthy, and I’m not sure it would have hurt me. But lots of teens- even boys- are not emotionally healthy. And having an authority figure switch up the relationship in that way can be harmful. And frankly having a threesome that early in your sexual career does point to things not being particularly healthy.
The first rule of being a teacher is “don’t have sex with your students.” It’s a damn easy one not to break. There are a lot of people in this world and there is no healthy reason to be trolling your students for sex.
The problem is, I can’t recall off the top of my head any guy ever saying “Yes, this kid may be damaged from boinking his hot teacher.” I’m sure these guys exist, but I think they are a very small minority. The only time I ever hear “This boy could be hurt.” is from women.
And the only reason I can think of why that is; is because women don’t truly understand what it’s like to be a young teenaged boy. Men do.
Don’t get me wrong, what these teachers did was fucked up. And frankly, I’d like to start seeing these teachers face heavier consequences than a relative slap on the wrist.
But as far as damaging the kid goes? Nah, not likely. Not if the teacher was attractive anyway.
Possibly, yes, but teenaged boys are far more likely to experience a protracted lack of sex as damaging and degrading, and I don’t see many women worrying about that. I firmly believe that if something like this had happened to me as a young teenager I would almost certainly have had a better subsequent life and would be a happier, and probably a better person today.
I am inclined to think that that applies to a majority of men. If more of this sort of stuff went on, the world would be a better place, with a lot less misogyny and self-hatred amongst the male population. (Some adult women might have a lot of fun, too.)
I am quite prepared (indeed, inclined) to believe that it works the other way around for teenaged girls: that they are more likely to be damaged and less likely to be benefited by early sex with adults. However, as I have never been a teenaged girl, or a woman, I am much less confident that I am right about that, and am very much prepared to defer to women’s opinions on the matter. Most women seem to think that it is most likely damaging to girls, so I tend to believe that.

Sorry, bro, but I think even sven is 100% right. Sex in a bad power dynamic can mess up a boy just as much as a girl, for instance by harming his ability to form healthy and age-appropriate relationships going forward. Maybe some kids are capable of effectively evaluating that kind of relationship at that age, but many aren’t; they don’t have the experience or the emotional development.
Many men like to think that this kind of situation would would have been a fantastic thing to have happen to them, but that’s just fantasy talking, and generally not an actual assessment of one’s ability to handle the risks this would pose in real life.
I feel guilty to agree with you, but my hunch is you are probably right. Most men would rather have this type of sex, or even a crappy experience than no sex for long periods of time. Involuntary celibacy is a very unpleasant state for any young men to be, mainly those 30s and younger. If he is say 60, then that is another matter.
I am not making excuses for that sick bastard Elliot Rogers who shot several people in UC Santa Barbara. He could have been a hateful person regardless if his success with women were different.
But guys who get laid are generally happier, have higher self esteem(what a boost to sleep with two hot blonde teachers), more confident in dating and sexual situations, not to mention a very fond memory that will last a lifetime.

Tragic? Not any more than my math teacher who got fired at the end of her contract because she couldn’t teach worth shit.
