What a senseless horrible crime ! I am not sure if I posted this in the right
forum , pleases move it if belong someplace else.

This is the correct forum for recreational outrage.

But hopefully not for omnibus threads about killings of law enforcement officers.

Since every link I’ve ever clicked on here freezes my shit up, I’m not going to find out what happened unless someone bothers to provide some details.

So, how’s the weather where you are?

The weather is great, thanks for asking!

Some cop was pumping gas and a guy walked up and shot him in the back of the head.

I don’t know why this is being pitted. It is wrong for anyone to shoot a cop, or anyone else, while they are pumping gas, or doing most anything else.
If he had a family, I am sorry for them.

I f you had clicked on the link I posted you would had seen the details! How much details do you need to understand what has happen ??? All the details are never given out right away that take times as if is under police investigation . :smack:

How about posting something more than just a link next time?

Look, the details aren’t complicated and are evident with cursory searching:

*Veteran deputy sheriff is pumping gasoline into his patrol vehicle at a gas station in suburban Houston.
*“Dark-completed” male approaches deputy sheriff from behind and shoots him once in the head.
*After deputy sheriff falls to the pavement, the gunman continues to shoot his body.
*Gunman leaves in a red pickup truck.
*One “person of interest” is in custody but no arrest of the gunman has been announced.

Look, my point was that posting just a title and a link or just a title, link and a quote from an article is the laziest form of posting. I believe it’s discouraged by the board.

Fiber. I’d add more fiber to my diet.

It’s common courtesy to at least provide some info in your OP. And we don’t care much for people who just post a link and a quote. If you can’t be arsed to offer a modicum of commentary, you shouldn’t bother to post anything at all. You might try reading the registration agreement and the rules sometime.

I believe the Internet has sites for catching up on news stories. I’m not sure why people go out onto the Internet and then decide to post a link to articles. Why not post the Phoenix weather report while you’re at it?

It shouldn’t be necessary to click on a link to understand the point of a post. Some people don’t want to click random links, others may not be able to access the link. You should give some description of what the link is about, and why people should want to click on it.

And it’s still unclear exactly why you are especially outraged by this particular incident, since the news story gives hardly any details. Yes, it’s unfortunate when a police officer is shot and killed, but what makes this particular incident so significant to you?

It’s August in Phoenix. What do you think the weather’s like?

Monsoon season. Can you quit sending so much of it our way (CA)?

How long before Wayne LaPierre suggests we starting arming cops now, because that would have prevented–

Hey. Hmm…

I am sorry for the officer.
However, regarding bup’s point, it suddenly struck me that in all the shootings available, it seems rare for there to be an OK Corral happening when most of the wisely armed bystanders see an incident occurring and all blaze away to save a life, or even avenge one.
Do the NRA misspeak ?

Nope. Those wisely armed bystanders were not “good guys with guns.”

I wonder if they’ll name a street after him.
