Ty Pennington

Well, a really smartly-designed fork is something of a rarity. If he actually managed to design one, I wouldn’t call it time wasted.

I checked out the furniture on this site. I’m unimpressed – I see awkward angles and clunky proportions, a general impracticality, and some genuine gawdawfulness (“Bed Bug?” For, like, an adult?). I didn’t bother to seek out prices.

And if anyone connected with that enterprise should be alerted to this thread, take some incredibly helpful advice: if your business is called “Furniture Unlimited,” you really shouldn’t be making your logo a prominent “FU” – stylized, moderne, 70’s pop, or otherwise.

What?

Seven hit the nail on the head. I remember seeing him in small doses on talk shows and such and the occasional Trading Spaces when I had a chance to watch cable TV and he seemed tolerable. I thought he was good looking and the fact that he was handy was even better, I wouldn’t have minded having that guy around the house.

But on EM:HE he is just an attention ho. “look at me! I have a bullhorn!Look at me, I’m taking my shirt off!”. He has to find some reason to take his shirt off every show, he screams all the time, he makes this big deal of his “special room” and he’s as annoying as shit. He just comes off as a big doof. I wouldn’t want that guy around my house, no matter how handy he is.

And I agree, the soul patch has got to go.

What I don’t get is on the Sears commercials when he yells, “Hello [whatever] Family! We’re going to Sears!” It’s false advertising, since no one in real life would get excited at the idea of going to Sears. In reality, they’d respond, “Oh, Sears. Whoop-de-do.”

Kaaaa-ttooooo!!!

Set you up for a snappy comeback, which you jumped all over and batted out of the park. It was pretty much a compliment; a testament to the humor of and timing of your response. Just nod, smile, and we’ll carry on with the Ty bashing.

I prefer Carter and Andrew, though I wouldn’t kick Pennington out of bed. Grrrrrowl.

James, on the other hand, bugs the crap out of me, though.

Oh thank god. I thought it was just me. I don’t mind In A Fix, but I have to fast forward through every “James is talking” bit they do.
And Ty is purty.

Ty is a loser.

I was on the sign right about the display model. My girlfriend was actually considering it (she liked the colors of the spread on display) until she saw the price. Right next to it was another set by no one in particular, and it was around $99 - $120.

Weird - I wonder if maybe it’s sold in whole sets - like bedspred, shams, dust ruffle, etc.

I don’t love the Bullhorn at all - but that won’t stop me from buying his stuff if I like it. I dont’ have to physically invite the man into my house just to buy a comforter.

I wonder how Paige Davis feels about her total decrease in fame after Trading Spaces as opposed to Ty’s increase.

But . . . but . . . but . . . he’s is soooooooooo cute and hot! And he looks gay!

I don’t think I’ve seen him on TV, though. The one person on these home improvement shows that I regularly have seen and have a crush on is Evan Farmer, whom I like to think is gay too.

You’d never be able to keep him around if you had kids, though. I think that he’d wake the kids up if you ever had to have sex. Unless he happens to be into bondage or something, and you can equip him with a ball gag.

I have never heard him speak. He looks like a soft-spoken type of guy. Evidently, he’s not.

Perhaps it’s a good thing I don’t have kids, eh?
